
hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books i want to read in may. honestly there is a lot of book, since i have to read my may arcs, which i’ve been putting off cause i was reading six of crows and i also had a bunch of books to read on my libby. so, i’m gonna highlight and give a description about some of the books, but towards the end i’ll list some other ones i want to read, or my hold might come in.
that weekend by Kara Thomas. this book comes out June 29th. this was supposed to be a perfect weekend, the perfect prom weekend getaway. but, something terrible happened when Claire wakes up by herself, bloodied on a hiking trail with no memory of what happened in the last 48 hours. now, everyone wants answers, most of all Claire wants to know what happened. she remembers Friday night, but after that, nothing. and now, Kat and Jesse, her best friends, are missing. Claire knows that the answers are buried somewhere in her memory, but as she’s learning, everyone has secrets, and even her best friend.
curse of the specter queen by Jenny Elder Moke. this book comes out June 1st. Samantha Knox put away her fantasies about archaeological adventure the day her father didn’t return home from the Great War, now she works in a antique bookstore. then a package arrives, with a damaged diary inside, Sam’s peaceful life is messed up. ruthless men want to reclaim the diary are now after Sam, setting her and her childhood best friend, and also childhood crush, on a high stake adventure that lands then in the green hills of Dublin, Ireland. now, having to discover the ancient order with a dark purpose and to perform an occult ritual that will raise the Specter Queen, the Celtic goddess of vengeance and death, to bring the war unlike any world has ever seen. but, to stop them, Sam needs to solve a complex cipher, one that will lead her on a treasure hunt to discover the ancient relic at the heart of a ritual: a bow carved from the tree of life.
tell me when you feel something by Vickie Grant. this book comes out June 15th. it started out as a fun part time job, being simulated patient for med school students to practice on. but now, the charismatic Viv lives in a very real coma. cellphone footage just leads to more and more questions, what really happened? other kids suspect it was not an intentional overdose, but each person has a reason why they can’t tell the truth.
instruction for dancing by Nicola Yoon. this book comes out June 3rd. Evie Thomas doesn’t believe in love after she witnessed a couple kiss and is overcome with a vision how their romance began and how it will end. but, as Evie tries to understand what happens, she finds herself at La Brea Dance Studio, learning to do all the dances with a boy named X, who is everything Evie isn’t, adventurous, passionate, daring, and his philosophy is to say yes to everything, including entering a ballroom dance competition with a girl he only met. but, falling for X was not what Evie had in mind, if her visions taught her anything, no one escapes love unscathed.
never kiss your roommate by Philline Harms. this book comes out June 1st. at Seven Hills, the most exclusive boarding school where the best and brightest roam the hallowed halls. but, you need to watch your back cause the lurking anonymous Chitter Chatter is the watcher, who can’t wait to reveal the latest hookups, hot lists, and secrets from the campus. but, their new obsession, is the straight off the train, but not straight, is the insta love Evelyn and Seth.
a chorus rises by Bethany C Morrow. this book comes out June 1st. as a teen influencer Naema Bradshaw has it all, she’s famous, privileged, has good hair, and also is an Eloko, which is a person who’s gifted with a song that woos anyone who can hear it. everyone loves her, until she cast as the terrible person who exposed Tavia’s secret siren power. as she is being dragged in the media, nobody understands her side of the story, not her friends, or boyfriend, and not even her Eloko community. but, she knows the truth, and she needs to build herself up. then a flourishing segment of Naema’s online supporters start targeting other Black girls, Naema needs to discover the true purpose of her magical voice.
fifteen hundred miles from the sun by Jonny Garza Villa. this book comes out June 8th. Julian Luna has had this plan for his whole life: graduate, get into UCLA, and be able to leave Corpus Christi, Texas and the expectations of others that have been forced on Jules. but, in one reckless moment, and one impulsive tweet, his plan for a low key nine months are thrown, quite literally, out of the closet. the only downside is the whole world knows and he is prepared for rejection. the upside is that though, he can be his true self now. then Mat, a cute and empathetic twitter crush from LA slides into Jules DMs, Jules can tell him anything. but, when Jules fear come true, the only person is fifteen hundred miles away and he needs to face them alone.
the mary shelley club by Goldy Moldavasky. as the new girl, Rachel Chavez wants to make a fresh start at Manchester Prep. but, since she is one of the only scholarship kids, she struggles to fit in, but as a prank goes wrong, she now has more enemies than friends. but, when the prank gets more attention to the Mary Shelley Club, which is just a group of students with one goal- come up with a prank that causes the most fear. but, when the prank escalates, it turns cutthroat and takes a life of its own.
she drives me crazy by Kelly Quindlen. after loosing a basketball game to her ex girlfriend, she gets into a fender bender with the worst person- her nemesis. but, if the crash wasn’t worst enough, their nosy moms get involved and now the girls are forced to carpool until Irene’s car gets out of the shop. but, as the opportunity presents itself for Scottie to get back with her toxic ex, and climb her school’s social ladder, she brides Irene into playing along.
witches stepped in gold by Ciannon Smart. Iraya has spent her whole life in a cell, everyday she is closer and closer to freedom and vengeance. Jazmyne is the queen’s daughter, but she has no plan on dying to strengthen her mother, just like her sister did. as sworn enemies, the two witches enter into an alliance to take down their mutual threat, but their power is intoxicating, revenge is a bloody purist, and nothing is certain.
twice shy by Sarah Hogle. Maybell Parish has always been a dreamer and a hopeless romantic, but, living in her own world has been disappointing, but when she inherits a house in the Smokies from her great aunt, she seizes the opportunity to make a fresh start. but, when she arrives, her troubles are only just starting, the house is falling apart and she isn’t the only inheritor, she has to share everything with Wesley Koehler, the groundkeeper who is grouchy but also gorgeous and also has a very different vision for the property’s future.
loveless by Alice Oseman. the intimancy experiment by Rosie Danan. after her sex positive start up, Naomi Grant has become an international sensation, and she wants to start doing live lecturing. the forest of stolen girls by June Hur. Hwani’s family has never gotten over the kidnapping of her and her sister, who were later found in a forest, near a gruesome crime scene, with no memory besides that the captor wore a painted white mask. but, to leave the memories, they leave their hometown, but then years later when Hwani’s father learns that 13 other girls have recently disappeared under similar circumstances, he needs to return to their hometown to investigate, but only vanishes as well.
fat chance, Charlie Vega by Crystal Maldonado. Charlie Vega is smart, funny, artistic, ambitious, and fat. but, everyone has an issue with the last one, especially her mother. Charlie just wants a good relationship with her mom, but her mom leaving weight loss shakes on her dresser, doesn’t help anything. the whole world thinks she needs to be whiter, thinner, straight hair, and slimmed face. there is one friend that is always in Charlie’s corner, her best friend Amelia, who is slim, popular, athletic, and really cool. but, when Charlie starts a relationship with her cute classmate Brian, everything seems perfect till she learns he asked out Amelia first.
now, i’m just gonna list some books that i want to read, but it’s not a big deal if i don’t get to them.

anyway, that is all for today! honestly, i’m probably not gonna read half of these books and i mean, it’s a shit ton of books, so i’m definitely not gonna get to them, and i also have finals this months. but, i might also read more then normal since i don’t want to study or anything. but, even if i get to like 12 of them, i’ll be happy to a degree.
