hello everyone! today i’m going to be talking about kate in waiting by Becky Albertalli. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i honestly hated this book and i feel like the plot was just so boring and the narrator of this book it was so terrible, and their voice was just nails on a chalkboard, so i really didn’t like it.
trigger warning- bullying, cursing, homophobia, bullying, alcohol, drug use, toxic friendship, transphobia, body shaming, panic attacks/disorders, emotional abuse.
this is honestly kind of petty, but i feel like i just need to talk about this since it happened so much that it annoyed me. but, i really hated how every ten seconds that albertalli said ‘fuckboy’ or ‘f-boy’ every single second. and i really don’t care how authors use different words, or what they call different people, with in reason. but, i feel like in here, they dropped that work every freaking page. and i feel like they used this word so so much, that it just made me want to hit my head on the desk.
and also, it kind of annoyed me how they called every single guy, who wasn’t the drama geeks, a fuck boy. and i feel like it was just so annoying, since they just used them so much and how they called every single person that, it was annoying. and i feel like they should have 100% taken it down a little bit. and i feel like they should have just changed i and not make it so annoying, and just not have every single guy by a fuckboy.
and of course, we needed to have some girl x girl hate, so throughout the book we got these characters, we of course had to have the girls called fuck girls or f-girls. so, we kind of got based the ‘basic’ words, skanks and whores, we now have this. but, like i said before, it annoyed the hell out of me, but i also feel like it was so unneeded because the girl on girl hate just annoyed me and just made me so angry and stuff. since, i feel like it was just so unneeded and stuff. and like if you took a shot every time they said some version of the word, you’re liver would give out.
and i honestly don’t mind swearing in YA books, like teens swear so i don’t have an issue with that at all, but i feel like this was the author trying to write like a teenager and be relatable and stuff, but it honestly didn’t work out ay all. and i’m not sure how accurate this is, since my notes for this book is all over the place, but i also think kate called her friends ‘the squad’ which is so weird and random, and it’s like this isn’t 2013, nobody talks like that anymore.
with that being said, i do feel like the representation of this book was honestly really good. like they had queer rep, one of her friends was trans, and another character was in a wheelchair. and i feel like it was just so good and i feel like it just is always so cool to see books with that type of rep. and also, i believe kate does have anxiety, and i also think that other characters did deal with anxiety too, and also most, if not all, of the characters were jewish, which is also cool for a YA book.
and i also really did like the family in this book. like, i feel like seeing them all interact just did feel real, and seeing all of them have issues and then get over it, i think it still was really cool. and i really liked seeing kate and each of her parents interact and seeing who she likes more and how she can interact with each of them. and i think my favorite thing about this book was that it was just natural and that they all have real human issues.
with that being said, i do feel like there were so many people in this book, side character wise, and most of them had basic male names, that they all blurred together. it might just be because they all were kind of boring and kind of a copy and paste of each other, and none of them were actually that memorable or anything like that. and i feel like it was just kind of annoying and i feel like it was just kind of a mess.
and also i feel like a lot of the characters were just so flat for me, like with such a grand cast of characters, who are all different and stuff, i kind of expected something more. like, i feel like the crush was honestly a mess and really took away from it all. and with all her friends, they were just boring and they didn’t really have to much things happening and just something that i couldn’t get behind all of them.
i also feel like that there were so much plot about how they talked about how they went to camp and like i feel like they brought so many things up that never really explained it, and i feel like they did kind of explain things, but not enough for people to actually explain it all and to tell things about their past and just other things like that, or at least explain it all and just to not have so many things a mystery.
but, than we did get some plot about kate and anderson, who i don’t like together at all. like, i feel like the biggest thing to me was that they were just so toxic and they were just so mean to each other that it was just gross. and i mean, with them having two crushes, i feel like they were just so rude to each other that i literally hated seeing them together. and the love triangles about it all, and i feel like it was just so stupid and gross.
with that being said, i feel like this book was just the same thing over and over again, which was annoying. like, i kate and anderson would have some stupid little ‘romantic moment’ with matt, and then the other person would get pissed and then just argue about it over and over again. then they would choose that they would hash it out and talk about it all, then they choose that yes, they were mean and that they needed to grow up a bit. an then it was just a consistent cycle, and this wasn’t healthy at all, and i mean, it’s not a good way to have friends and treat people. and also how they talked about how they wanted to be friends and nice, but then they would just argue and fight over and over again, and i honestly hated it so much.
anyway, that is all for today! i honestly didn’t like this book at all, and i feel like it was just kind of a mess, and i feel like it was just so boring and that the book was honestly not for me and that i honestly don’t like this authors books at all, so i probably shouldn’t read them anymore.
hello everyone! today i am going to be doing another i read 5. which, if you don’t know what it is, basically i read five books kind of pertaining to a theme, so in here, a bunch of adult romance books. so, in here, i am going to be talking about these books.
so, for each of the books i’m going to be talking about my general thoughts, the writing, the plot, the characters, and then, of course, the romance. and i believe that for each of these books i do have a full fledged review for each of these books, which you can find if you just search it in the bar, on the top of the screen.
THE IMTIMACYEXPERIMENT–
this book is by Rosie Danan, and this is also the second book in the roommate series. and i gave this book 3/5 stars. i honestly didn’t really care for this book, which honestly sucks cause i honestly really loved the first book in the series, the roommate, so this just kind of annoyed me.
writing– i honestly didn’t hate the writing. i do feel like it was kind of a step down from the first book, which was honestly so disappointing. and i feel like that there should have just been something more to it. like, the writing just felt like it was missing something from the writing which, i do feel like kind of played into the romance, and not really in a good way.
plot– i honestly didn’t hate the plot. i do feel like it was kind of cool to see the plot about them meeting and then them working together. i do, think it was done decently, but that it might have been made to be a bit better. and i feel like that the writing was kind of all over the place, since i feel like they did kind of forget about her sex start up business. so, i do feel like it was good, but not the best thing in the world.
characters– ethan- i honestly didn’t hate him, but i didn’t hate him. like, i feel like he was really good and that he did have some potential, but i do feel like they should have changed a couple little things throughout the story, just to make him a bigger person since that he was told over and over again that he was so hot, but i do feel like they should have just changed him a little bit. but, i mean, he wasn’t the worst character in the world, but not the best.
naomi- i honestly feel like that in here, she was kind of a complete 360 of who she was in the roommate, which was just kind of annoying, and i feel like it was just so annoying that they changed who she was so much. and i wish we got more plot about the sex and just her being so positive about it, since i feel like that it would honestly help it so much.
romance- as for the romance, i do feel like the romance was not that good. like, i feel like they needed to have more chemistry, cause i feel like they literally had zero chemistry, and i feel like it was just not good. like, i feel like it was just so weird because they could have had so much chemistry, but they were mostly just lust, which was not cool, in my mind, but, i mean, i guess you win some and loose some.
TWICE SHY-
this book is by sarah hogle. and i gave this book 3/5 stars. i honestly wished i liked this book, since i feel like it was just not the best book in the world, and i feel like it could have just been so much better. and also, i really wished i liked this book since so many people love this author, which i don’t really care for.
writing- the writing of this book also wasn’t that good. i feel like it was also kind of all over the place, and i feel like that it was just all over the place and i feel like the dream scenes were just so weird and i feel like it really took away from the book. and i mean, i feel like it was just so odd, and i really feel like hogle doesn’t know how to write some of these characters.
plot– i will say though, i do feel like the plot of this book was a decent plot. i do really liked the plot with them inheriting this house and then kind of fixing it up for a bed and breakfast. and i do feel like that plot was fun and exciting, but also that i think there was just still so weird. like, i feel like the plot with the day dreams was just so weird too, since i feel like had these plots with the dreams so like you don’t know if this is real, or if this is fake and i think it was kind of a mess.
character– as for maybell, i do feel like she was kind of a mess. like, i feel like the plot with them and to see her to have the whole day dream plot, it kind of made this to be kind of a mess. and i think they needed to honestly get rid of the whole day dream, since i feel like it was just not good. but, i do feel like overall, she was kind of okay, like i do think she was way to trusting, which also kind of pissed me off too.
then for wesley, i still don’t know how he didn’t go run away screaming. like the first words she said to him were so creepy, and i for sure wouldn’t let her sleep in my house. but, i do think he was nice, but i do feel like he was still way to trusting with her, and i don’t know how they just went from point a to b and not even questioning anything.
romance- i honestly feel like the romance though was honestly kind of boring and something that was super forgettable. like, i do think i have a fairly good at remembering the romance book plot, but, this one is just a complete blur, for most of it. but, i feel like wesley was so much better romance wise than maybell. but, i also think the day dreaming part just completely messed with everything, since you don’t know what is a day dream or not.
LIFE’S TOO SHORT-
this book is about abby jimenez. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i honestly loved these characters and this book so much, so i’m honestly so excited to talk about this book again, since it just was so heartwarming and romantic and i completely fell for the characters in this book.
writing– the writing for this book was so good. like, i feel like jimenez really knew how to pack the emotion into the writing and the characters. like, you could really feel their happiness and then when they were sad, so i honestly really liked it and i think it was jus so so good. and i honestly think the writing really made the book.
plot– i honestly wasn’t really sure if i was going to like the plot of the book, since i feel like it was way to much about vanessa, so i wasn’t really sure how adrian was going to play into it all, and how he was going to work his way into her heart. but, i honestly really liked it and i feel like the plot of the book felt natural and that it honestly flowed really well.
characters– so for vanessa, i honestly really liked her. i honestly really liked her hustle, and i really liked to see how much she cared about her job and just to see her live her life and not to let her illness slow her down. so, i honestly thought it was so good and i really liked how kick ass she was. granted, she did have some kind of cringey moments, but it still felt kind of natural.
than for adrian, i honestly thought he was so cool and fun. granted, towards the end of the book he kind of annoyed me, but i feel like he was still so sweet and i honestly loved seeing him with the baby and just to interact with vanessa, he was just so sweet. and i honestly really liked that he was so sweet and just kind.
romance– i completely adored the romance. like, i feel like it was done really well, and i feel like they were just so good together and i feel like they just had natural growth and that they just worked so well together. and i mean, they just were so cute together and i really liked seeing them become this family, since it was just so good.
ACT YOUR AGE, EVE BROWN-
this book was written by talia hibbert. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this was honestly also such a good book. like the characters were just so good with their different tropes, mainly close proximity, grumpy x sunshine, and kind of enemies to lovers. and hibbert honestly did so amazing with this book and these tropes, it was probably the best book in the series.
writing– the writing of this book was so good. like, i feel like it was just done so well and i feel like everything was just so natural between the characters. and hibbert honestly so impressed me with the writing of this book, since it was honestly just done to perfection. and that everything in this book fell together like a puzzle piece, especially with the side characters, who i think are getting their own series, which i think was just so good.
plot– the plot of this book was also so cute. i honestly feel like it was so good and just seeing them working in this bed and breakfast, it just made this book so good. and i feel like it was such a good plot and i mean, it completely drew me in and just made me so hyped up for all of this. and i think, it was just so good and such an addicting and honestly made me want to read this book so much.
characters– for eve, i honestly really liked her. like, i feel like she was such a joy to read about, and i think she is going to play into the next series a lot, so i am honestly so hyped to read about her and just to see her again. and she was just such a ray of sunshine, hence the grumpy x sunshine trope, which made me love her so much. and she was just so fun and honestly really relatable, which i think really made me like her so much more.
then for jacob, i honestly liked him, but i don’t think he was the best hero by any means. i feel like in a lot of this book she was kind of cool to see him be kind of dorky and just to see him do his day to day things were so fun. and also like i think, it was just so fun to see him, even if he was kind of annoying at some parts, just like him being kind of stuck up, but i think he could be like 10 times worst.
romance– the romance in this book was just so cute. i feel like he was just so fun and like light hearted in the right moments, and i honestly feel like this was just such a fun book. and i feel like the sex scenes were so good and i honestly loved it so much, and they were just so steamy and just so fun and i highly recommend this book.
THE SOULMATE EQUATION-
so, this book was christina lauren. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this was honestly a very good book and i really did like this book, but i don’t feel like it was the best book they’ve ever written, but i do feel like it was sweet and just really cute. and i do feel like they worked very well together.
writing– the writing of this book was good, but i feel like they needed to spend less time trying, and honestly kind of falling with writing the plot about the science. i feel like they really just needed to stay in their lane and just write a book about romance, and not have this science. but, with writing the romance, i feel like it was good and they did a good job with writing them doing their things.
plot- honestly, i did like the plot of this book, but i don’t feel like it was the best plot in the world. like, i feel like it definitely was very cool to see them both deal with this science part and just to them to be like super compatible. with that being said, i do feel like this was very science-y, a bit to much at points since this is a romance book and all.
characters– for jess, i feel like she was a nice character, but also something that was a bit annoying at points. and i feel like she was just kind of annoying with her kid, and how she never really was nice to herself, and that honestly kind annoyed me a bit. and also how she never cared for herself, it kind of annoyed me a bit.
then for river, i feel like he was cool, but i think at the same time i feel like he was just kind of annoying how he was always so there for work, but i still feel like he was still a nice guy and i did like him. but, i also feel like he was just so cute with juno, and i honestly think he was cute with that and watching them interact together, and all of that.
romance– as for the romance, i do kind of fell like that there was just something missing. like, i feel like the plot with them being soulmates just seemed to be so easy for them to do all of this. and i feel like they had chemistry, but at the same time i don’t think they did. which, was just kind of confusing and i think they just needed to have a little more, and maybe just to see them being a little more romantic or something.
anyway, that is all for today! i honestly really liked making this post, since this was just so fun to be able to talk about these romance books. and i also think they were just so fun to read about these romances. so, i honestly can’t wait to do more posts like this in the future.
hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about 56 days by catherineryan howard. i gave this book 4/5 stars. first off, thank you so much blackstone publishing and netgalley for an arc of this book! and also, of course, this is going to be an honest review, and this is going to be changed by the publisher and/or the author.
honestly, i kind of made a pack to myself that i wouldn’t read any covid books, but i do feel like that this book was honestly really good and i honestly completely liked how they played with covid. and also, how they honestly were so good to see this plot play into a murder mystery. like, i thought it was so cool to see them all in here and to see the lockdown kind of played into them falling in love and to see them do all these different things, i honestly liked it.
but, i did really kind of liked this book since it kind of shows a different side of the pandemic, so i think it was kind of cool to show the perfect crime, and i feel like it was kind of cool in the pandemic. but, i just feel like there were just some stupid little issues that kind of turned me off from the book a little bit. and i feel like that there was just something missing in the pandemic aspect.
with that being said, i do feel like that we got the same plot with two different characters in two different povs. like, you would first get to see ciara’s pov, which was a lot most of the book, so i think that it was kind of weird that we got her, and then oliver went right over it again to talk about his pov, which was kind of weird, but also so boring. since, i wouldn’t really want to read the same thing twice, but, i mean, i think it could have been done something different. like, maybe have ciara doing something and then oliver for something else, especially cause they are living together, so they are always together.
and especially towards the end of the book i feel like it got to be a bit of a mess. since, i feel like there was this plot twist, which is a whole other topic. but, then in this plot twist, it was kind of annoying because they threw us back to the front of the book again, since they redid all the beginning of the book again. and i think it was just such a mess cause we already got the beginning of this story at least three times, but then we got it all again, which just pissed me off so much. and i feel like they should have just had it cleaner or something.
and i also feel like that the plot with the detectives weren’t that interesting, since i feel like nothing happened with them. but, i feel like all they did was say things that we already knew. like, it was just boring cause we know that he’s dead and nobody knew how he died. like, i feel like they could’ve beefed up oliver and ciara’s plot and more romance plot lines, or something, since i feel like their plot was just dumb and boring.
but, i also feel like the stakes of this book weren’t that high ? i don’t know if it makes sense cause they are living together and all that. but, i do feel like there wasn’t really any things that were wrong with the romance before it. like, i do feel like it had issues with some stupid little things that were just them lying to each other. so, i feel like they should have upped the stakes for it all. and i even think the ending of the book really took away the stakes of the book since it completely took the whole book and tipped it on its head.
i also feel like the romance was not good. like, i feel like it had so much potential and i feel like they barely even kissed in here, like i think it was like one fade to black scene, and i wish that we got something there, since i feel like they are stuck in his house together for weeks on end, they’re gonna at least kiss or something. like, i feel like we should have got something more, and i feel like we needed to get something more. since, with a couple kisses and one fade to black, it’s not a very believable romance, especially since they are living together.
as for oliver, i did honestly really like him as a character. i do feel like they needed to hype him up a little more, and that they needed to develop him a bit more, since i feel like there was just something missing about him. mainly cause he was kind of an odd guy with some issues along the way. and i feel like they needed to explain him a bit more and just tell us more about his personality. but, i do feel like the side plot death was kind of obvious his role in it all, but, i still think he was an okay guy.
then for ciara, i feel like her personality was kind of all over the place. like, i feel like they did develop her a bit more, but still not enough were i could tell you the plot or something. but, i still think that they should have developed her more, and i think she needed to still build her up as a person. but, i also think that they should have to make us feel for the main characters more. but, i also think that she should have had her past explained more, since i think it was so cool, but they kind of pushed it to the side a little bit.
finally, as for the death, i feel like we needed something more. cause like they had some big stakes throughout the book and kind of hyped it up a lot more than it actually was. and i feel like they needed something else there just to make it more exciting. and i mean, i feel like they needed something else, just to keep the stakes and the exciting plot lines.
anyway, that is all for today! i honestly really enjoyed this book and i think it was honestly really good. and thank you so much netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book. but, like i already said, this is an honest review and that all these opinions are my own.

the collectors by lorien lawrence. i gave this book 4/5 stars. thank you so much netgalley and amulet books for an arc of this book! i honestly really liked this book and i feel like it was just so cool and honestly very lighthearted and kind of fun. but, i feel like there should have been more plot, but i guess that this book is for middle grade, so i kind of expected. and it really gave me big fear street and goosebumps vibes, which i honestly really liked.
we can’t keep meeting like this by rachel lynn solomon. i gave this book 2/5 stars. this book honestly had so much potential, and i mean, i really think that this should be so good and just so fun. but, i feel like this book was so boring and that they just argued so much that it became annoying. like, they were honestly so toxic and i really didn’t like it at all. and i feel like they were just so annoying and the main character also kind of annoyed me.
56 days by catherine ryan howard. i gave this book 4/5 stars. thank you for an arc blackstone publishing and netgalley. i honestly did really enjoy this book and the covid aspect of this book. but, i also really liked the romance between the two, but i do wish that we got to see more of them together and just more of their romance. but, i do feel like that they didn’t have that much closure to the story and that they didn’t have to much of an ending, which i honestly think sucked.
survive the night by riley sager. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i honestly really loved this book. like, i feel like the ending was just so cool and i think it was just done so well. but, i do feel like the romance was just so weird, and i mean, i think it was kind of weird. but, this book was honestly so addicting, which i honestly liked so much. and i mean, i feel like this book really was so cool and how they tied in the movie aspect into all of this.
kill joy by holly jackson. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i did like this book a lot, but i feel like it was just a weird book because it was the prequel to the agggtm books, so i feel like some of the characters didn’t feel like themselves. but, i do really liked that we got to see pip before she was pip and that we got to see her become who she is today. and also to see her figure out what she wanted to do for her epq project was so cool, since they never really said how she picked the topic.
it’s in his kiss by julia quinn. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i honestly did like this book a lot, but i do feel like that there was some points in this book that i just didn’t like it at all. like, i feel like gareth was just kind of possessive at some times, like where he said that he owned hyacinth and just random things that i just didn’t like. and i did really like the steamy scenes, and i think it was just so good.
it’s in his kiss: the second epilogue by julia quinn. i gave this book 3/5 stars. i honestly liked this book, but i just don’t understand why isabella just didn’t give her parents the jewels. but, it was a nice way to wrap up their story.

anyway, that is all for today! it was honestly a bit of a smaller haul, which i think is good, since i do have so many books to read. but, it is honestly really scary that so many of these books are for 2022, since it still feels like 2020, mentally.
hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about the collectors by lorien lawrence. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i honestly really liked this book, and i think it was so well done, and it was honestly a really good book. so, thank you so much netgalley and amulet books for an arc of this book! and of course, this is going to be an honest review, and not going to be changed by the publisher and/or author.
trigger warnings- grief, child death, death, death of a parent.
overall, i do feel like this book wasn’t done that well. like, i do feel like that there was some parts of this book. granted, this book is for middle schoolers, so i feel like that could have been some of it. but, i do feel like that there was just some issue with this book that could have been built one more. like, i feel like they should have talked more about abigail and her past, and i think that they should have went deeper into this story. like, i feel like we knew about her, but we didn’t know that much about her. and i wish they just went deeper into it all.
but, i do feel like that there was so many layer in this book, which i do think was done very well. like, i feel that there was so many things happening, and that everything kind of built up to something. like, for one, having them built up the plot with quinn’s family and how they all work, and than mike and quinn’s relationship, but also to see them just work together as friends but also as co detectives, but also just to see them all work together.
i also really liked the whole plot about their friends was so cool. like, i feel like they were just so cool to see them talk and be friends with more than just themselves. since, i do feel like of course, in book 1 they did have more than just each other. but, i feel like it wasn’t that friend heavy, besides each other, so i do think seeing quinn and mike’s, or really more quinn’s, friends, and also get more plot about lex, i honestly really liked it. and i feel like that these friendships did add more layers to this book, which i think was so cool.
i also kind of wish that we got more plot about the ladies in white. like, i feel like book one we got to much plot about the oldies, where i think in that book we got to know everything about them. but, in here, we didn’t get to much of these characters besides that they wear a lot of white and a couple other random things. but, i do think we should have gotten more plot about it all. and i think it should have just been better and more build up.
but, i do feel like that the ending of this book was honestly so good. like, i feel like it was done so well and that the ending honestly made the book. and i feel like it was just done very well, and i honestly wished they kept up that momentum for the whole book. but, i still think it was just very strong and fun and honestly a book that a lot of kids should read.
anyway, that is all for today! this was honestly a very short post for today, since i feel like i have no clue what to talk about cause i feel like it was super short. but, i honestly feel like that if you were into the fear street and goosebumps books, since they do kind of give me those vibes.
hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about between perfect and real by ray stoeve. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i honestly really liked this book, and i thought it was such an amazing book and such a hard hitting one, but still so good. and i think it was such an amazing book and i feel like more people definitely need to read this book.
trigger warning- transphobia, bullying, dead naming, homophobia, hate crime, violence, outing, body shaming, emotional abuse, biphobia.
i honestly really liked the whole plot about the diversity in this book. and i mean, i honestly feel like it was so good and not used in a check mark kind of way. like, zoe, who was dean’s girlfriend, is a lesbian, ronnie, dean’s best friend, is Black and gay, and than allison, who is zoe’s best friend, is bisexual and Japanese-American girl. so, i honestly think it was so good and i mean, i feel like it was all kind of fleshed out. and just to see them all interact was something i really liked.
i also really liked the found family vibes i kind of got from dean, nina, and jade, who dean met in the trans and nonbinary support group. and i honestly really liked to see them and to see them interact and just talk about their relationships with people in their relationships and to see them come to terms with who they were and just to see them talk about it. i honestly liked seeing them all talk together, and i honestly wish we got to see them more, since i think it would just be so cool to read about them together.
and i think having dean go to this support group with him questioning everything, i think it was just so cool. since, i feel like in a lot of queer YA books they either a. never go to a support group or b. they already know about their gender and identity. so, seeing dean still really questioning everything, i really liked it and i think it was done so well and i feel like it was just something that was had it’s moments and just something i honestly really liked. especially because he got to meet with a bunch of young trans and nonbinary people and to see them all talk and to help each other.
with that being said, i did feel like zoe was honestly the worst character in this book. like, i feel her whole characterization was that ‘lesbians are terfs’ and that honestly annoyed me, since in this case, it is only really one person. and i feel like that they should have not made her so much of a terf, since i just think they probably could have used dean and zoe breaking up as zoe is only attracted to girls and dean’s a boy, but i think it was just so messy and that they should have just fixed it and made it better. and i honestly feel like they just kind of brushed off all of the transphobia, which i think sucked.
but, i also really liked dean and how he had such an strong opinion and how he had such a big voice. like, i feel like it was so easy to understand who he was, what he was going threw, and just connect with him. and i think it was just so cool to see him be a real person and be a real person. and i just feel like he was so easy to connect and honestly kind of see yourself in him, in someway shape or form.
and i honestly think that having a character dean as the narrator is something that kind of comes off as a love letter to young trans kids. granted, i’m not gonna talk about it to much, since it just doesn’t feel right for me to do so. but i feel like it is such an important story with talking about how dean grew into his skin and him coming into his transness, and talking about things he didn’t really expect and things he wanted to do to feel like himself.
and i also liked to see him with his friends, since they all have a different relationship. like, i feel like seeing him and his friends deal with this and to see them all work out and figure out what is happening in each of their relationship. and i mean, i really liked him and ronnie together, and i honestly think that they were so cool to see them talk and just act like real friends.
i did though want a little more substances with dean and his bully. like, i feel that they pretty much had issues and fought for a good point of this book, and i mean that this was something that they dealt with a good chuck of the book. i do wish that we got to see more of them and to see their issues between the two of them. and i honestly feel like that this would have been so much better if they kind of didn’t make it so rocky at the end. but, i do think that it could have been better.
and this book though is still kind of nice and cute and honestly so easy to kind of fall in love with. like, i do feel like that this book had the cute and fluffy moments, with a lot of trans joy and self love, which i think was so good. like, i think it was just so cool to see him figure it all out, but still have these cuter and light hearted moments, but also that had those harder moments, which i also think was done so well.
and also that this book was just such a comfort book, granted i don’t think it really is going to be mind, but i feel like this book had such a part to be so comforting and to see them do their thing and to figure everything out. and just to see all of it happen in real time. but, also that i think that this is kind of a book were you will learn something new each time, but also feel like a big hug.
anyway, that is all for today! i honestly really liked this book, and i feel like it was done so well. and that it was something that was so good and just like heartwarming. but, i do feel like that the author of this book is going to have such a great career, and i feel like they are gonna be such a stable author in the queer community, which i honestly can’t wait to see them write more books, especially if they write some queer Shakespeare retellings.
hello everyone! today i am going to be doing the grishaverse book tag. i’m honestly so excited to do this tag, because i honestly really like the book series and the show, so i honestly am so excited to talk about them in this aspect.
