the falling in love montage review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about the falling in love montage by Ciara Smith. i gave this book 2/5 stars. this book was okay, i honestly found nothing that impressive about this book. it’s kind of disappointing since a bunch of people have been hyping this book up.

this could have just been me, bt i never really like books with those list elements. like where our one character wants to make some list about something they want to do. i’m not sure if i’m explaining it well enough, but hopefully you get the point. but, i did not like the list part in this book, since it wasn’t really explained a lot, and the whole events were kind of glossed over, when it is like the main plot of this book.

with that being said, the reason it was so glossed over, was because the writing was so choppy. so, basically there was be at the most four paragraphs, then it would just have something like “****” that between like four paragraphs. and this just got to be so annoying, since we could not have like a lot of time in a scene, and get all the romance or whatever we could have wanted in a scene, if that makes sense.

and i honestly found this book to be somewhat of one of those debut books, and it has the feel. since it was just so choppy and honestly kind of all over the place. and of course, this could always be changed and worked upon. and honestly i still have a lot of hope for the next book by the author if she works on her writing a bit more.

i probably should have said this before, but this whole book was kind of cool that it was some weird rom com. so, basically this whole book is our two main characters Saoirse and Ruby who go on this adventure about doing all these classic rom com events. i did find this to be super cool and very cute. but, it also was kind of cliché, since so many books do this, and i really only remember them going on a Ferris wheel, and nothing else to big.

i also found Saoirse to be such a baby. she is like 18ish, since she is going to be into college. but, when you expect someone to be going into college they won’t act like a freaking 2 year old. and the only reason she acted like a baby because her dad was getting remarried since her mom got put into a nursing home. and i just found it to be so annoying since all she did was cry about it for like a lot of this book. and i found that it’s hard and upsetting that her dad id getting remarried, but it just got to be a bit much after awhile.

i also think that this whole book could have been resolved if Saoirse just went to therapy. like all of her family issues and everything could have ben fixed and resolved if she just got some help. and it got to be kind of annoying since we were like her therapist throughout the whole novel.

so since that she probably needed some therapy, the romance was kind of shitty. and i feel like if they could have had such a better romance if for one they just talked a little more, and two Saoirse just got some help and didn’t keep everything to herself. and i honestly think that all good romances need a lot of communication, which they did not have.

and i also think all of the characters were super flat. and honestly i just found that everyone was very flat, and that everyone was so underdeveloped. we also never really got any other of the characters interests whatsoever, which is something i really like in books. and that i found that the main character was self centered, closed minded, lacking all of empathy, and very irritating.

Saoirse- i feel like i’ve already talk about her a lot, but i really think she just needed therapy and just needed to have someone to slap her around and have her head get out of her ass for some of the scenes in this book. especially towards the end of the book.

Ruby- i honestly could have liked this character so much, if she was just written so much better. and she just had just better scenes and wasn’t flatter then a post it note. and also if she got a lot more playing time, i would have liked her more.

anyway, that’s all for today! i feel like this was kind of all over the place, and a lot more negative then i would have wanted. but, i still hope you enjoyed this review!

just a boy and a girl in a little canoe review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about just a boy and a girl in a little canoe by Sarah Mlynowski. i gave this book 1/5 stars. so, this will obviously be more of a rant review, so i think that this will probably have a bigger review since i do have a lot of opinions for this, so get ready.

this first two paragraphs are going to be kind of the same thing, but then two different points that are somewhat intertwined. but, what i wanted to bring up is the fact that this whole book is such a MASSIVE pity party. i feel like since her boyfriend was traveling and then now she is going back to a camp that she got bullied and then her trying to overcome it. and like it was so annoying how this whole book was just this pity party since she was alone, but you get the point.

on the other hand, i think that when she was a kid, some shit happened to her (her coochie got exposed and like she got bullied because of it.) but, with that being said, this was just such a pity party since this gotten talked about all the time and that she was so bullied and whatever else happened. but, this just got to be so annoying since of she just brought it up 24/7 and wanted all her friends and also the reader to feel so sad for her.

now were going to be talking about some slut shaming in this book. so, i have a couple examples, one that i’ve kind of already talked about but i have more thoughts on it. and honestly to got this happened so much in this book, and it got so annoying.

so, the first real example of slut shaming is honestly when Sam was a kid. i’m going to try to talk about this in the most respectful manner that i can, since she is/was a kid. but, to lay it all out for you, basically she feel and then her robe kind of exposes her (not really sure why she was walking around camp with just a robe on, but whatever) so if you couldn’t get what i’m getting at, her coochie was exposed so everyone saw it and that everyone saw that it

but, it was obviously when her coochie got exposed and of course i don’t need to explain that much about it, since hopefully you guys will get what i’m getting at. but, basically this lead to everyone and their mother slut shaming her, since she had hair. so, they all called her ‘porny.’ which, i know kids can be mean and shit, but serioulsy, like it’s natural to have hair, so i’m not sure why it is such a big deal. and honestly this just rubbed me the wrong way, since it’s so natural so she got slut shamed.

also, this also just made me so pissed off when i was reading this book. basically, Sam’s one roommate was the girl that like everyone shits on because Janelle (i think that’s her name but that is what we are going to call her.) anyway, basically all of her roommates (there was three) always picked on her because she never shaved her armpits and then wore tub tops. so, of course this lets her to getting slut shamed by all of her roommates, because of course woman can’t be confident in their bodies and they always have to fit social standards. and then in the end, Sam tries to act like the victim and is like “well you guys didn’t have to be so mean to us,” when she was like the bandleader for the bulling and slut shaming.

with that being said, most of this song is going to have kind of the same talk, since this whole book is just so sexual. and that is coming from someone who normally reads adult romance, and yeah they have sex in romance books, but this book was just so much worst then all of that.

i also had so much second hand embarrassment from reading about Sam. i mean, i think that everything was kind of a hot mess, and just some of the thoughts that went threw this chicks head just made me want to throw this book in my pool and never go get it again, since it was just so bad. and this girl literally acted like a child so much, and it was just so bad. like you know how when you’re reading a sex scene like in public and you’re like getting all red cause your so embarrassed? yeah, well this is the whole book was like this, and even worse.

on the topic of children, Sam acted like these kids were baby goats. she seriously freaked out all the time when she had to watch over them cause it was so freaking hard to watch them. and right now, if you never read this book, you would probably think i’m talking about 2-6 year olds. but, no these kids were 8-10. okay, i’ll say it, but watching 11 8-10 year olds could be hard, but when it’s between four people and they are above 7, you have no way to be that dramatic.

another thing that happened throughout most of this book, we get all of this talk about how Eli is in Europe, but when he is in Europe, she is naturally going on his instagram and liking his pictures. but, then she sees that Eli is with some other girls and she gets so pissed off at him, since he’s talking to the opposite sex. BUT HERE WE HAVE LITTLE MISS SAM WHO IS LIKE DREAMING ABOUT GAVIN. THE HYPOCRIST! and like Sam is having sex dreams about Gavin, but when Eli takes a photo she has steam coming out of her ears.

on the topic of Eli, every five minutes she had to bring him up in every single ones of their conversations. like they could be talking about the dumbest things, but then she would bring up Eli in some strange way. and this just got to be so freaking annoying and it was so unneeded. like, i don’t care how hot this man is, he does not need to be brought up in ever single conversation.

so, if you couldn’t tell, this book pretty much deals with a lot of minors since this does take place at a camp. but, i found that this book was kind of sexualized. like, there was so much talk about their coochies, that it just made me so uncomfortable. and that this was like brought up in every single conversation about their coochies and whatever else. and they also had like five hundred different names for coochie, and it just got annoying after awhile.

also, the whole plot of this book is cheating. like Gavin and Sam aren’t single, so they are pretty much cheating throughout the whole novel. and i mean i think that everything was just so stupid. and i personally HATE cheating in books/movies, but this just took it to the extreme. and that everything was so unneeded in my mind. but, we were also supposed to see Sam as this good girl, but when she is just cheating, it’s really hard to.

and then in the end of the book, she would make some sort of excuse about why she would be cheating on Eli with Gavin and that she was just young and dumb, and also that it was a learning experience. but, then in the end they just got over the cheating, Gavin got back with his ex girlfriend and then Sam got together with some other dude from camp. so, basically they never talked about the cheating and that they were wrong to do it.

let’s also talk about the grammar and spelling of some words in this book. for one, the author pretty much only talked with exclamation points. like they could say literally anything, and then there would be an exclamation point after the sentence. and then they would be like amaaaaaazinggggggg. and this just got to be so annoying and that it is unneeded and makes it seem like an overexcited 3rd grader was writing this.

but, when i’ve read reviews of this book, everyone talks about how the counselors drink and do drugs in this book. which, i’ll admit probably isn’t the best thing to have in a YA book, but it’s not like teenagers don’t drink and/or do drugs. i mean, its kind of crazy that people don’t drink as teenagers, or hell even in college like they are in this book. but, i never found it that bad, and i understand where people are coming from, but also that it’s not something out of the ordinary.

Gavin- this guy was such a jerk in this book. and i mean it just got so annoying, since her was cheating on his girlfriend, but yet he gets pissed when she breaks up with him cause be met some other man. but, he’s the one that is cheating and he gets mad, like that is just so messed up and got me mad.

Sam- you already know all my thoughts on her, since she was just so annoying. and i feel like she was just such a baby and like she gave me so much second hand embarrassment. and i found this character to be so freaking annoying, and i just hated her so much.

anyway, that’s all for today! i know this post is all over the place, but it all makes sense in some degree. but, i still hope you enjoy this blog post and did understand this, even if this is all over the place.

DISCUSSES THE BELIEFS OR CULTURE DIFFERENT THEN YOUR OWN-

the rule of 3 by Ariella Talix. i’m not sure if i’d say that the characters are ‘unfaithful,’ but this does involve a threesome/ open relationship. but, i want to keep an open mind when i read this book, so i’m not going to give a description, since i don’t want to know anything about this book.

A FEMINIST READ-

the voting booth by Brandy Colbert. i’m not going to talk about what this book is about whatsoever, since the election is so high on many peoples nerves, like myself. and i honestly just don’t want to drum up any anxiety.

11 LETTER TITLE-

the stitchers by Lorien Lawrence. so, this is a new middle grade series, which takes place in a small town with multiple spine chilling issues. this is giving me major goosebumps vibes, so i cannot wait to read this. i’m not going to say to much about this, since i think this book would be better if you don’t know what it is about.

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books i’ve read in October. this is coming a little bit later, but i still wanted to do this post. but, i am so excited to talk about all of these books, since i loved so many of them. but, this month didn’t to go that much as plan, since most of these books weren’t that spooky, which is okay since i liked so many of them.

cinderella is dead by Kalynn Bayron. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this book was honestly such an amazing book, and i loved it so much. i honestly loved the characters, the romance, the girl power, and the betrayal so much. the but, as amazing this book was, i hated the ending so freaking much, it seriously did not do it justice. the ending could have been different from the arc ending, but needless to say i did not like it. you’ll probably see this book in January again, if you know what i’m getting at.

hunger games by Suzanne Collins. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i’m not a big dystopian fan whatsoever, but this book completely changed my mind. i loved the little romance so much, and i honestly never expected it to happen. and this whole book was just so amazing and now i can finally understand all the tiktok jokes about it.

a good girls guide to murder by Holly Jackson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this is my second reread of this book, and i honestly loved it so much. i loved how everything flowed together and the whole plot. and i honestly forgot so much of this book from the first read to this one. but i still really loved reading it. and honestly i loved all of the characters and the whole friend group.

heartstoppers volume 1 by Alice Oseman. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i’m not a big comic person at all, but this book completely changed my mine about it. but, this book was just so sweet and so cute. but, i did find some of the character drawings a bit confusing from time to time, but then i eventually got over it and figured everyone out. but, it was still so cute and just an amazing book.

good girl, bad blood by Holly Jackson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. OH MY GOD! i completely did not expect this book to be as good as it was and it was just the most amazing book in the world. and i honestly loved all the characters, and the little romance that we got here and there. and honestly Ravi was so freaking cute in this book. just a little side note, i loved Charlie in this book so much, that it was probably a little bit unhealthy.

life and death by Stephanie Meyers. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this book was a reread so i’m not going to talk that much about it. but, this book was 100% better then twilight with Bella and Edward. but, there was a couple times that i did have some issues with it, but i still loved it so much. and i’m really happy that i did get to reread this book this year, since i completely forgot to.

heartstoppers volume 2 by Alice Oseman. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i honestly found this book a lot easier to read then the first book, since we already knew the characters and their personalities and a little bit of their relationships. so, this was just a lot easier to read. but, this book was so quick, i mean i think i finished it in one day during teams school calls. and this is just the perfect romance book, especially if you want a sweet lgbtq+ book that doesn’t deal with people dying or a lot of trauma.

don’t stay up late by RL Stine. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this book was honestly so great, and it brought back a ton of the nostalgia from the first time that i did read this book. but, this was so predictable and whatever, that it was super easy to figure everything out. but, i do wish the ending was better, but i still overall enjoyed this book.

after ever happy by Anna Todd. i gave this book 1/5 stars. i’m not going to sit here and talk for awhile how much i hated this book, since everyone knows that i hate this series with a passion. but, i will have a review to come, and i believe in December since i’m so backed up with reviews, so look out for that shit show whenever it comes out.

heartstoppers volume 3 by Alice Osemen. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this book was also a sequel, so i’m not gonna say to much about it. but, honestly found this book to be so freaking adorable, and i loved the relationships, and that we just didn’t get Charlie and Nick’s, we also got to have Charlie’s friends, which were so cute.

one evil summer by RL Stine. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i honestly had such high hopes for this book, but i could not get into it. i mean, i think that the whole book just was so terrible, and i just couldn’t get into this book. i also hated these characters so much, and it was just so bad

there’s someone inside your house by Stephanie Perkins. i have this book 4/5 stars. i was honestly so scared to read this book, but i actually really enjoyed this book. it was so dark, which i expected, but it was just so freaking good, and i loved everything so much.

anyway, that’s all for today! i hope you enjoy this blog post. be sure to tell me in the comments what you read in october and what your favorite book was. my favorite one was probably good girl, bad blood. and if you did see this post go up on Monday, i’m really sorry, but everything got messed up and went up on the wrong day.

October book haul

hello everyone! today i am going to be doing my October book haul. this is a little bit later than i normally post, since i normally post this on the second to last day of the month. but, i obviously did freak week, so i couldn’t really post it then. so, i decided to push it back a little bit.

kingdom of the wicked by Kerri Maniscalo. i am so freaking excited for this book. i honestly loved her other books, so i cannot wait to read this book in November. but, this book is all about twins sisters, Emilia and Vittoria, but the catch is that Emilia just lost her twin sister in a brutal murder. in order to find her sisters killer, Emilia must in list the help of Wrath, a wicked prince of hell.

legendborn by Tracy Deonn. i got this book in my owlcrate for October, but i honestly cannot wait to read this book. and i honestly get so many city of bones vibes. but, this is all about Bree Matthews, who just lost her mother in a tragic car crash. but, she wants nothing to do with her family memories or house. but, Bree thinks that a residential program is just what she needs. until she sees a flying demon feeding on human energies.

a vow so bold and deadly by Brigid Kemmerer. this book comes out January 12, 2021. don’t be alarmed, this is just a chapter sampler that i got from netgalley. so, i honestly cannot wait to read this couple of pages. but, this book is the third book in the cursebreakers series. i’m not going to give that much of a description, since i don’t want to spoil anyone.

the lies you told by Harriet Tyce. this book come out December 1st, 2020. i have no clue when this book actually comes out, since netgalley says one thing, June 9th to be specific, and then goodreads says the date above. this whole book sounds kind of like a hot mess, so i’m not going to describe what it is about so i don’t mess it up. but, this is a adult suspense thriller.

the tipple twins and the gift by Michelle Cordara. this book came out October 28th 2020. this book is all about identical twins, Jenna and Jessica, who has a secret gift of magic. but Jenna and Jessica enrolled in Chumsworth School, but the catch is that the head mistress, Miss Snipping’s, has a massive dislike to twins and love witchcraft. but, as the school play is all about the Salem witch trials, the twins realize how much trouble they can be in.

the famoux by Kassandra Tate. this book comes out January 19th, 2021. i’ve heard this book is pretty much big brother, but with a dystopia twist. but, this book is all about 16 year old Emilee Laurence who is obsessed with the Famoux, who provides refuge from troubled home life and then bullies. but, Emilee receives an offer to become a member of herself, she of course jumps on the offer, even though she has to leave everything she ever known behind. so, she enters this world of glamour and high takes.

revenge of the sluts by Natalie Walton. this book comes out February 2nd, 2021. this book is all about lead reporter for the warrior weekly, Eden covers a lot of stories at her high school. but, when intimate pictures of seven female students get anonymously emailed to the whole school, Eden wants to get to the bottom of it. but, this story is all about relationships with the technology and also a modern take on slut shamming.

fight for her by Liz Plum. this book comes out March 9th, 2021. this is another book that i have no clue when it is going to come out, since everything says something different. but this is all about a popular Scarlet Tucker’s whole life seems perfect. but, after her brothers tragic death, she has to keep up her appearances when she is with her popular boyfriend, who cares a lot about her reputation. but, when Scarlet accidentally slams into the schools resident bad boy Elijah Black, in the hallway in school, they both have the same issue-they just lost a brother. so, as they get closer and go in deeper into this relationship, more and more things began to unravel.

city of villains by Estelle Laure. this book comes out on February 2nd, 2021. this book is pretty much the Disney villains meet Gotham in a fairy tale crime series. this is all about Mary Elizabeth Heart who is a high school senior by day, but a intern Monarch City police department at night. she watches all these crimes happen, trying to help the crime rate in the city. but, when the cities most wealth and powerful businessman daughter goes missing, Mary Elizabeth is excited when the Chief puts her on the case. but, as this one case turns from one, but soon multiples, she is stuck going down a rabbit hole.

lore by Alexandra Bracken. this book comes out January 5, 2021. but, this book is all about 16 year old Lore Perseous, who left the brutal world of her family’ sadistic murder, turning her back on the promise of eternal glory. for years and years she pushed away any thoughts of revenge against the god who is responsible for their deaths. but, as she is going to hunt dawns over NYC, she is enlisting the help of Castor, who is a childhood friend, who Lore thought was long dead, and then the wounded Athena.

stay with me by Jessica Consolo. this book comes out on December 1st, 2020. this book is actually a second book in a series, and i didn’t realize when i requested this book. but, i did find the first book for free online, so i’m not going to talk about this book, since i never read the first book.

anyway, that’s it for today! i honestly got so many good books this month, and i cannot wait to read all of them soon, if November and December goes as plan. but, needless to say i cannot wait to read all of these. and especially the wattpad books i’m hoping to get to them in november.

halloween book tag | freak week day 8

hello everyone! today i am going to be doing a the Halloween book tag! i believe this is my second time doing this blog post. so, i’m excited to do this tag again. and honestly when is a better time do to this then on Halloween. but, happy Halloween and last day of freak week.

FAVORITE SCARY (MUST READ) FOR HALLOWEEN

stalking jack the ripper by Kerri Maniscalo. honestly, i think that this is one of the best ‘horror’ books. and this whole book talks a lot about the whole serial killer, so what honestly gives you more of a spooky feel then talk about serial killers.

SCARIEST BOOK COVER

twilight by Stephanie Perkins. i’m not talking about the good old apple covers, since those are honestly kind of cool. but, these original uk covers. and if you are on twitter, you probably know what i’m talking about. so, yeah that is probably one of the most scary covers.

IF YOU COULD GO TRICK OR TREATING WITH ANY AUTHOR, WHO WOULD YOU PICK?

i would probably pick Holly Jackson. i mean, her books are so interesting, and i just want to know, how the hell did she come up with all of this dealt and i think that it would be so freaking cool. and i just want to know how the hell she got her ideas and figured out all the plot twists and the serial killers.

IF YOU COULD DRESS UP AS ANY BOOKISH CHARACTER FOR HALLOWEEN, WHO WOULD YOU BE?

Jude from the Cruel Prince by Holly Black. honestly, it think that this outfit and hair and makeup is honestly so extreme, that i could never do it by myself. so, honestly i would probably just do her. and then i would get to wear this big ass dress, so that might be pretty cool.

IF YOU COULD FIND ANYTHING (FROM A BOOK) IN YOUR TRICK OR TREAT STASH, WHAT WOULD YOU HOPE TO FIND?

a sword from the kingdom keepers by Ridley Pearson. for one, who wouldn’t like a sword? granted, this is kind of big, so i’m not really sure how well that would fit in a bag, but maybe we can still figure it out. but, i think that a sword would just be so cool to put on your wall or whatever.

IN WHAT FICTIONAL WORLD WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO TRICK OR TREATING?

Little Kilton in a good girls guide to murder. if you read the books, you probably are thinking, what the hell are you thinking, it’s a town with a killers. but, the easiest way to say it, i just want to trick or treat there, so i can maybe meet Ravi.

WHAT BOOK VILLAIN WOULD YOU NOT LIKE TO MEET ALONE IN A DARK ALLEY ON HALLOWEEN?

Aro from twilight. this is kind of a simple answer, but i honestly think that if i saw him, i would run the other direction. since, he would probably just kill me ASAP. so, honestly i would not like to met him in a alley, or really anywhere.

WOULD YOU RATHER DRESS UP AS A VAMPIRE, ZOMBIE, WEREWOLF, OR SHADOWHUNTER?

i would probably do a vampire. i have done a vampire once, but where i live it is super cold, so i turned it into this hybrid of vampire/werewolf. so, basically if Reneseme Cullen and Jacob Black have a baby when she’s a lot older. but, it still was kind of weird.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HALLOWEEN CANDY?

i honestly kind of got a lot of them. but my three favorites are York Peppermint Pattie, kit kat, and 3 musketeers.

anyway, that is all for today! i hope you enjoyed this blog post! and happy halloween and happy last day of freak week! it honestly is another amazing freak week, and i’m honestly so excited for this next year, cause i already have some ideas. but, i’ll see you guys on November 3rd for my October book haul.

last minute bookish Halloween costume| freak week day 7

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about some last minute Halloween costumes. this is kind of a weird idea, and some of the ideas are so stupid, but you know, they are at least a little bit funny. so, i hope you enjoy them, and maybe get a little bit of a laugh.

the first character is Audrey Rose Wadsworth. for thsi costume you would need a black t shirt or hoddie, or you can even use one of the colors she wears on the book covers. but, then you would also need some fake roses, cut the stem off of them, and then you can pin it to your shirt!

that is honestly kind of a dumb idea, but it works in some weird way. and i feel like since everyone loves this characters, so if you don’t want to spent a load of money of a big dress, or even make a big one. so, i mean i think this works in some way, but who knows.

so the next character is Percy Jackson. this is kind of a basic one, and i feel like half of the world as done one of these costumes. but, all you would need is a orange t shirt, and you can find the percy jackson logo online somewhere. you can either iron it on, or if your feeling very confident, you can draw it on. or you can just cave an order on online, and hope it gets here on time. and then you can just use jeans or sweats. then if you want to do Annabeth, just put on a baseball cap and then some type of necklace.

again, this is kind of a basic costume idea, but i mean everyone loves these characters. so, these could work in someway if you want to be one of these characters. and i mean it’s so simple, and i even did this a couple years ago. i believe like 4 years ago, and it was so freaking simple.

the next idea is Wolf from Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. for this one you’ll need grey sweatpants, a big t shirt, military boots, fake werewolf teeth, and then a sharpie or eyeliner. you’ll need to use the sharpie or eyeliner and write “LSOP962.” and that needs to be on your left arm.

there kind of is a downside with this, since a lot of people might think you are just a super lazy werewolf, instead of a book character. but, this still is kind of cool. since so many people love this series, so i guess someone should recognize you. and especially if you post this on your bookstagram or something, people are probably going to love it.

Celaena Sardothein from Throne of Glass. for this one you’ll need black pants, black shirt, black boots, and then some sort of knifes or daggers. i would probably not bring the knifes if you are going out (which you shouldn’t because of covid) and just use the knifes for pictures so you don’t accidently stab somebody.

this is honestly kind of a badass costume. and since this since so many people love this series somebody is bound to get it. but, this costume will pack some sort of punch on bookstagram, since everyone loves that series so much, and everyone will probably die when they see it.

the next costume idea is the kingdom keepers. this is a sure basic idea, and it’s super easy. there’s three different ways that you can do this costume, and their super easy to do, no matter which one you choose.

  1. a black t shirt, a black pair of jeans, gym shoes or boots, a sword/knife.
  2. a Disney t shirt/hoodie, sweatpants, gym shoes
  3. pajamas and barefoot/slippers

so, this is a super easy costume idea, and i’ve been them a couple times, probably an embarrassing amount of times. and honestly this is so simply and honestly pretty comfortable in my mind. this has probably been one of my favorite costumes, since it is just so comfortable.

pip and ravi from a good girls guide to murder. this honestly works better as a couple costume, but it still works of them. for pip you are going to need to wear some sort of t shirt (bonus points if its about math, school, or something about being a nerd,) jeans, black converse, and a zip up or hoodie. then for Ravi you are going to be needing a hoodie, jeans, and then some sort of boots. you can also use a flannel for Ravi.

this is kind of a basic idea, and most people probably won’t understand it, but it still would be so cute. and i mean i feel like everyone and their mother has read this book, so it works to some degree. and if you really want to do a group costume, you can always bring in Andie Bell and Sal, d even the rest of Pip friends.

Sadie from Sadie. for this book you will need to get an old t shirt (preferably white,) old jeans, sneakers, and then a red jacket. this is honestly so simple, and it honestly could work so good.

and honestly if you do it well enough, a lot of people will understand it, since it is on the cover. so, this honestly could work in so many different ways. and if you want to do it really good, you can also pair it with the next idea, but just make the cardboard a little bit smaller, so it says the title and the author.

the next costume is a book. for this costume you will need a poster board, string, and then paint or a sharpie. for this costume all you’ll need to do is paint/draw your favorite cover on there. then, you of course will need to tie this around your neck with the string. if you want to go all out, you can dress up as that book character underneath your book cover.

this is honestly a super simple idea, and it works if you want to show some pride in your favorite books. and this will honestly let all your artist talents shine. or, if you’re like me and can’t draw, it can show people how terrible you are at drawing.

anyway, that’s it for today! i honestly had so much fun with writing this post, and i think that this was so cool. and i honestly kind of want to make a post somewhat like this again, but maybe with what i think bookish couples will be. but, happy freak week and we only got one more day to go!

Halloween Creatures book tag | freak week day 6

hello everyone! today i am going to be doing the halloween creatures book tag! this honestly seems like such a fun tag, and i cannot wait to do this, since i’m all about spooky stuff and also those creatures that are all around Halloween.

WITCH- A MAGICAL CHARACTER OR BOOK

Cinderella is dead by Kalynn Bayron. i’m not really sure if this would count as magical or not, but let’s just count it as for the purpose of this tag. but, this book is such an amazing book. since it is a more ‘modern’ version, and that deals with LGBTQ+ characters and also a lot more feminist then the other Disney version.

WEREWOLF- THE PERFECT BOOK TO READ AT NIGHT

a good girls guide to murder by Holly Jackson. you’ll probably see this book 20 more times in this list. but, everyone knows how much i love this book, and how much i tell all my friends to read this book and scream about it on twitter. but, this book is so spooky, and i just think this is such an amazing book and it just makes it so much more spooky at night.

FRANKENSTEIN- A BOOK THAT TRULY SHOCKED YOU

my lovely wife by Samantha Downing. this book honestly shocked me so much, and the whole ending of this book. and honestly the whole ending just made everything so much more shocking. it honestly was so amazing, but i jut loved how shocking so much.

THE DEVIL- A DARK, EVIL CHARACTER

there’s someone inside your house by Stephanie Perkins. i’m going to go with the murder in this book. i’m not going to say who it is, for spoiler reasons. but, i mean the killer had all of this really bad killings, so honestly this character is so much like a devil character.

GRIM REAPER- A CHARACTER THAT SHOULD HAVE DIED

*this is going to be a very spoliery answer for good girl, bad blood*

but, for this one i’m going to go with Stanley Forbes in good girl, bad blood by Holly Jackson. look, i understand what Charlie was getting at, with him kidnapping his sister, but like Stanley was 9 years old so he really couldn’t have killed Charlie’s sister. but, i still think that Stanley didn’t deserve to die.

ZOMBIE- A BOOK THAT MADE YOU HUNGRY FOR MORE

good girl, bad blood by Holly Jackson. i know i’ve used this series for multiple other answers, but the ending of this book just made me want so many other books. especially since i love Ravi so freaking much, so just cannot wait to get into more books in this series. especially after the ending of this book, i just need so much more.

GARGOYLE- A CHARACTER THAT YOU WOULD PROTECT AT ALL COST

Charlie Turner in the kingdom keepers series by Ridley Pearson. she is probably one of my favorite book characters, so i would 100% protect her at all cost. and she is literally one of my favorite book characters in the world, so obviously protect her at all cost.

VAMPIRE- A BOOK SUCKED THE LIFE OUT OF YOU

good girl, bad blood by Holly Jackson. sorry that i’m using this book so freaking much, but i need to keep talking about it, since it was just so amazing. but, the whole ending just sucked the life out of me so much, and the one character i really liked just turned to be a dick, so it honestly sucked the life out of me.

GHOST- A BOOK THAT STILL HAUNTS YOU

after by Anna Todd. this book doesn’t haunt me in a good way at all. more of a one that is just so bad i cannot get over how much it sucks. and i honestly feel like it just is so toxic and crappy, so this book just haunts me so freaking much.

DEMON- A BOOK THAT REALLY SCARED YOU

sadie by Courtney Summers. i honestly don’t read to many spooky books, but this book was just so creepy, that i had to bring it up. and i honestly think that this was just kind of crazy, and that this whole book was just so crazy and honestly made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

SKELETON- A CHARACTER YOU HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH

Grey from a heart so fierce and broken by Brigid Kemmerer. i honestly hated him so much, and i just could not get with him, and with him in this book. and i mean, i feel like he was such a dick in this book, so i mean he just completely hated him, which makes the book so much more terrible.

MUMMY- A BOOK YOU WOULD PRESEVE THOUGHOUT TIME

Felix ever after by Kacen Callender. i just love this book so much, and i love it so freaking much. and this book is so important, and i think so many people can really see themselves in this story. so, i mean i think this should just be preserve throughout time for all these teens to read.

CREEPY DOLL- A COVER TOO SCARY TO LOOK AT

i honestly don’t think i’ve ever seen a book cover that was so scary for me to look at. i mean, there isn’t one on my TBR or whatever. so, i’m just going to skip it.

anyway, that’s it for today! i honestly really enjoyed doing this book tag, and talking about some of these spooky things and relating them to books. but, happy freak week day 6 and i’ll see you all tomorrow!

popular halloween horror books | freak week day 5

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about some popular Halloween horror books. i have never read any of these books, since i’m such a chicken, so i have no clue if i’m ever going to read these books, since i don’t want to be scared for the rest of my life about it.

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno- Garcia. this is probably the most recent release on this list, but i still wanted to include this book. but, this book is all about a family, who is one of the cousins just got married. but, right as this cousin tells Noemí Taboada that she need needs her help.

i honestly started to read this book, but i never got into this book, since i just couldn’t get into this book at the time. so, i do want to read this book eventually, but i still want to get to this soon. i mean, i think it sounds so cool, but also so freaking scary so i’m super scared to get into this. but, make sure you check out the trigger warnings, since there is a ton, from what i heard, about this book.

the haunting of the hill house by Shirley Jackson. this is a story about four different people who arrive at the Hill House. but, their stay is supposed to be normal, but soon this gets to be a spooky encounter, but the house soon gets its power. if you couldn’t tell this seems so freaking spooky.

i really cannot wait to read this book, but at the same time i get so scared to read this book, since i think it might be so bad to get into it. but, i did get this in an owlcrate one month, but i’ve been to scared to actually pick it up. so, maybe i will in November or something, but don’t get your hopes up.

Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. i’m pretty sure everyone knows what this book is about, but i’ll give a short little description from goodreads. in this song there is a lot of talk about the everyday life for Irish people. so, the lyrics mean that the people are probably in a pub and drinking away all the angry, sadness, getting into fights and also talking about how good their life might be. but, the lyrics mean that people are drinking away all the pain and all their emotions. overall, this song seems really negative, since about everything that they are talking about. and since fighting and drinking a ton isn’t really a good thing, but everyone in the pub is talking about the good old days.

i plan to read this book eventually, but like in a couple years, since i personally don’t want to read this anytime soon, since i’m such a chicken. but, i’ll eventually read this book. and i know this is beloved by so many people, so fingers crossed i’ll get to it.

the southerns guide to haunting vampires by Grandy Hendrix. this story is all about Patricia Campbell who always wanted to have this big and grand life, but she gives up her plans to be a nurse in order to marry a doctor and become a mother. but, she always looks forward to her days at book club where she can read mysteries and talk about her love for books. but then a new person moves in on their block, and they start to investigate him and uncover his dark secrets.

i am honestly so interested in reading this book, since i just sounds so freaking good, especially with the whole vampire. and two, this is an adult book, so it won’t be that cheesy YA crap we’ve all read. and i honestly want to see what this book brings to the table involving vampires.

the sun down motel by Simone St. James. this book is all about a rundown motel, which has been in this family for a while. but, this motel has people that pass through town stay here, some are locals, whose main goal is to hide their secrets. but Viv Delaney works here to pave her way into New York. like everything goes, something isn’t right in this motel, and she wants to figure it all out.

this book honestly sounds so interesting, and i just think that this book could go in so many different directions, and i honestly just want to read this book so soon so i can learn everything about it. and i honestly hope this book involves murder in some way, since it would make it so much more interesting.

anyway, this is all for today! this list is kind of all over the place, since i did some classics, then more recent books, but these are more popular Halloween books, which i see a ton of people read around this time of the year and get all the hype right now.
