every heart a door way and down among the sticks and bones review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about every heart a door way and down among the sticks and bones by Seanan McGuire. i gave EHADW 5/5 stars and then DATSAB 4/5 stars. i’m going to be talking about each book separately.

every heart a door way-

this is a better version of miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children. it had the same vibe, since they both deal with this an boarding school for people with powers, and this kinda crazy person that owns the school. and it wasn’t even the same book, this was just so much better.

Nancy was such an amazing character and really went through the ringer. she gets put in this school that she doesn’t want to go to, since her parents just send her there. and she was always with her friends, and always wanted to help them.

i’ve never seen anyone talk about this, but i love Cade so much. he was just an overall nice guy. he just helped everyone and everything, and always helped his friends out. he was probably my favorite character in this book. i would love so much if he got a sequel.

this book also had the best representation. Nancy was asexual, and it was always talked about in a very positive way, which i loved so much. but, Cade was also transgender. i also felt like it did a very good job with doing it. i thought it was also very well done, since it dealt with his parents not excepting him, which i just thought was so amazing.

now for down among the sticks and bones-

i thought that it was so cool that we got to see Jack and Jill when they where younger. but, i do feel like this took forever to get through, so the time when they where in the other world, it was short and very rushed through. i personally wish this part was longer.

it was really cool to learn about the twins back story. i think it was cool to see things about them, and how much their parents where dick, even though it was kinda boring.

this is more of a complex story then the first one. it was a more complex series about them and how their parents wishes influence you about what you like. and their sister dynamic was so great. but also how family dynamics are.

as for the characters, i think jack was a great character, but i think that she was better in the first book. but, i do see why she likes certain things, since everything is explained. as for Jill, i think she was a very mean and boring character, which really explains the whole murder part in the first one.

anyway, that’s it for today. i really enjoyed these two books. and i honestly cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

all your twisted secrets review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all your twisted secrets by Diana Urban. i gave this book 2/5 stars. this was a pretty boring book, and i’m not even sure why i stuck with it, but a lot of people where talking about it, so i had to pick it up. but of course i didn’t like it.

on the goodreads description, it says that it is perfect for fans of One of us is lying, but this was pretty much a knock off of one of us is lying and one of us is next. to me, it was just like that they put both books in a blender, and then it produced this book. and it was just so annoying, because i already read them, so i don’t want to read this shitty knock off.

everyone in the book literally acted like a three year old. everyone was just so possessive over each person, and acted like everyone was their property. and the worst of all Amber just got pulled around by her boyfriend and her ‘best friend.’ when they uncovered a bomb, they where all like ‘oh is it a bomb?’ it’s like no shit, its a bomb.

it also annoyed the hell out of me that all the popular and rich kids for the most part got the ‘scholarship.’ and like yeah the stoner got it, and the poor geek got it, but still. like i just wish that there was different people, and not everyone was just best friends, or enemies.

every five minutes someone was passing out. this was just so insane, since nothing was nothing that was making them passed out. they where just doing it, and it was just so annoying, cause it was like “oh she passed out.” and they like freaked out, and i don’t understand cause it was probably just because of the heat.

i’ve already talked about this, but Urban created way to many different issues. like how Sasha used Amber, and how Amber had to break up with her best friend and then how amazing Amber was by staying a school shooting, when it was only a BB gun.

this book is broken up in different parts, and it was present day, and then when they where in school and whatever. to me, i thought it was pretty stupid since everything was in Amber’s point of view. and she wrote it like Scott or Sasha telling the story, but everything was in Amber’s point of view, and it was so stupid. and going back just didn’t have a point.

as for the POV’s, i think it should have been either multiple point of views, or just third person. it was so annoying because everything was with Amber, and it was Amber this, and Amber that. and it would have done so much better in third or multiple povs.

in the end, there is a big ‘twist.’ it wasn’t that much of a twist, since we all knew that something stupid was going to happen. and i thought it was so stupid to me.

anyway, that’s it for today. this was a pretty bad book, and i think this was so cliche to me. but, i can see why people can like this, if they are into this stuff.

after we collide review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about after we collide by Anna Todd. and surprise surprise, i gave this book 1/5 stars. i thought this was such a bad book, and the first one was really bad. but, i still plan on reading the rest of the series, since i just want to make fun of it for more.

Hardin was a pretty mean character in the first book, but here he just turned into one of the most dramatic people in the book. he was just so whinny, and he wouldn’t leave Tessa alone. like everyone just freaked out about every simple thing, and it wasn’t even important, and they just had a heart attack.

another one of the most annoying point is how tessa was like “oh i cannot be with Hardin, he’s to much of a bad boy.” but then she goes back to him over and over again. after she finally leaves Hardin, she just goes to Zed, and that was most of the start of the book. and she also keeps going back to Zed, when he was just as bad as Hardin.

in the start of the book, Tessa pretty much gets rid of the topic people in her life, but she doesn’t flinch to get rid of her mother. i thought it was so stupid, and i get that everyone needs a parent in their life, but damn get rid of that lady already again. and i honestly just hated this part because she just had blinders on to her mother.

Tessa’s mother needs to get rid of Noah. i’m not going to say that Tessa and Hardin are a great relationship, but it’s insane that her mother can’t let her find her own boyfriend. and Noah doesn’t block the mothers number, i would completely block her number so fast.

Tessa has a panic attack when Molly and Hardin are kissing, but she is completely fine kissing another man. i found it so annoying, and Tessa is a complete hypocrite that does it. and it honestly so crazy that she can just freak out about Hardin kissing someone, and then do it. i cannot believe someone does that.

Tessa cakes on makeup to go on interviews and go see apartments, but doesn’t put anything on her hickey. like its just unbelievable, like why the hell would you not put anything on it. like it is just so stupid, and i don’t think that your hair can just cover it up.

basically in the couple of chapters that Tessa learnt that Hardin played this other girl in England. and basically us and Tessa learn that and that her name is Nadia. i really wanted some whole plot where we talk about how we will get over this bump. but, no it was pretty much just mowed over. and i honestly hated it.

i’ve kinda already talked about this, but it was so annoying that they broke up, and then got back together over and over again. i just hated it, and how they could not get over it. and each time they got together, it just just more toxic, and each break up was worst.

one of the main events in the end was Hardin got arrested. i hated how they where like oh yeah Hardin got arrested, and then Tessa had to save the day of course. and nobody else realizes that Hardin has anger issues, and they just let him do his thing, and i just couldn’t believe this part.

another of the main events in the end is Tessa gets all hot that she reads this manuscript that is pretty much Tessa and Hardin’s relationship. it was insane because they kinda have a basic relationship to some degree, so i don’t understand why they just freaked the hell out.

Tessa- holy crap, this girl annoyed the hell out of me. i thought it was so insane that she was up Hardin’s family ass, and they loved her so much. and honestly she needs to ditch Hardin’s ass already.

Hardin– like i already said, he was so dramatic. i just can’t believe that Tessa was just okay with getting back together with him, even though he was a complete dick to her.

anyway, that’s it for today. it was a pretty bad book, if you couldn’t tell. but i guess we all have these book, that we still read because they are so bad, and we just want to make fun of it.

love and other words review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about love and other words by Christina Lauren. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i liked this book a lot, and i think that the couple that was focused on this book was pretty amazing.

we saw this character in a past tense and then a present tense. i really liked it since we saw them when Elliot and Macy as kids, and how they grow up and their friendship, and how their childhood, shaped the way they act as an adult, and how the stories intertwined.

when they where kids, they where just so nerdy and cute. it was so cute, and i think that they are such a cute reader couple, and their whole relationship was based off of books and dragons. i just loved it was so cute, and i think they where just so amazing.

i thought it was so cool how Macy has a fiance and and step kid and Elliot wasn’t the same as her. to me, i would not have liked if they both had a step kid or kid, and then an fiance. but, it was cool to see that Macy was engaged and then had a step kid. personally, i really like romance novels when there was a kid.

as for the sex when they where younger, i thought it was weird that they talked about sex for a while, but Elliot kept talking about how he orgasm. and like that wasn’t even the bad part, he was talking about how he orgasms about dragons, wrists, and ears. like for one, why the hell do you tell someone that, and two, what the hell. it was just so gross, and who would even think about it.

one the topic of sex, i thought it was so weird that they had sex with two doors open, and the dad downstairs. like i wasn’t even there, but i thought it was so gross, and i cannot imagine being so stupid to do that. it could have been so much easier to wait till he goes to the store or whatever.

but, i thought the whole ending was so cute. i really liked how they finally got their happily ever after, and got to get their own house. even though it was so tiny, they got to be so cute for them to be there. i really loved that probably have a whole room just for all there bookshelf.

i do wish we saw more of a future with them, like a wedding and any kids. i really just think that it would be so cute, since we get to see their childhood and then them falling in love again.

i loved the ending and what they said on how they said “favorite word?” “you.” it was so amazing and i thought it was so amazing. but, it also had the same feeling of when Jamie Reagan from blue bloods said “i’d spend my five million on you.” it was jut so adorable.

Elliot- he was so cute, and such a family man. i just loved that he always was in love with Macy. he was such a cute character, and i really think that he is the perfect male love interest.

Macy- i loved how she was a doctor, and that her career was for everything to her. and everything that happened with her fiance, she still was positive, and always pushed to be with Elliot and get her happily ever after.

anyway, that’s it for today. i really liked this book, and all the relationships that where created and then broke up. but, i wish that they did talk more about the relationship, and how things played out. it was a really good book, and a book that a lot of people should read this book.

do these books deserve a movie?

hello everyone! today i am going to be doing a bit of a different blog post, and something that i haven’t done before. but, basically i am going to be reading five books, and then see if they do deserve a movie. i just want to say, for most of them i haven’t seen most of the movies from front to finish, but i have watched tons of trailers and whatnot.

After by Anna Todd. if you don’t know what this one is about, basically good girl Tessa goes to college, and meets her roommates friend Hardin Scott, who is every mothers worst nightmare. this is a ‘love story’ to some degree. this is starring Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes- Tiffin.

Call me by your name by Andre Aciman. everyone and their mother pretty much knows what this book/movie is about, but i’m going to give a very water downed version. this is all about a 17 year old boy who falls in love for a 30 year old. this takes place in Rome, which i thought was pretty cool. this is starring Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer.

Paper towns by John Green. this is a pretty popular book, when it came out, and now since everyone loves John Green. but, this book/movie is all about Q and Margo going on a little trip, and then Margo runs away and Q and his friends have to find her. starring Cara Delveinge and Nat Wolff.

the boy in the striped pajamas by John Boyne. this is probably the least popular book on this list, but this is still a popular book. this is all about a boy in WW2, and him and his family move to a Concentration Camp. and the young boy meets another young boy, who is in a Concentration Camp. starring Asa Butterfield and Jack Scanlon.

Miss Peregrine’s home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Rigss. this is such an amazing movie, but probably the least popular movie on this list. but, this is about a boy Jacob whose grandfather dies, and then Jacob and his father go to the island that his grandfather lived on before.

now, for my thoughts.

after by Anna Todd. i gave this book 1/5 stars. i hated this book so much. it was such a toxic book, everyone was hooking up, and using each other. but, all these characters are using each other, and Tessa is such a grandma character, and says that she has a boyfriend every ten minutes, which just annoying. but, this book does not think this book deserves a movie.

call me by your name by Andre Aciman. i also gave this book 1/5 stars. this is such a boring and terrible book. i think it was kind of a toxic book to, since a 17 year old falls and has sex with a 30 year old, and then Timothee has sex with some girl. i felt it was so stupid, and i felt that the 30 year old just is using Timothee. in my mind, this book does not deserve a movie.

Paper towns by John Green. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i loved this book so much. i completely fell in love with this book. i just felt it was so cute, and i loved how Q really wanted what was best for Margo, and drove half way across the country for her. in my mind, this book deserves a movie.

the boy in the striped pajamas by John Boyne. i actually dnfed this book. i read the first four chapters, and i didn’t like the writing style, and i found the character Asa played pretty annoying. so obviously this doesn’t deserve a movie.

Miss Peregrine’s home for Peculiar children by Ransom Riggs. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i found this book was pretty annoying, since i felt like it just went in circles and not to much happened. but, i do love this movie. i do feel like the movie was so amazing. i’m pretty indecisive on if this should have gotten a movie, since i love it so much.

anyway, that’s it for today. i might do a second part of this post, but i definitively will do another blog post like this. i thought it was pretty fun. so, there will be another one like this, sometime in the future.

behind close doors review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about behind close doors by B.A. Paris. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i loved this book so much, and i completely feel in love with this book.

i loved the characters so much. they where just so amazing, and really fought for each other, to some degree. and they all cared for each other, or as much as they know about each other. Ester was kind of a random character, and she kinda came off as a bitch, but she really pulled threw, and helped Grace in the end.

Jack needs to be kicked back into the Victorian Era. he was such a dick, and she didn’t do anything, even when they weren’t married, just casually dating one another. she just let him walk all over her. he really had the mindset on that all woman should be at home and in the kitchen.

biggest lesson of this book, don’t marry someone after 6 months of dating and don’t marry a guy who makes you quit your job. Grace was kind of native, but it really felt that everything was more alive and made everything seem like it was real life. but, i feel like Grace should have thought a little bit more into it.

its pretty cool how they put on a face for everyone to believe, and they do. and i’m not sure if it was just the actors where that amazing when they act like they are best friends and the best couple. i mean i guess Ester knew, but i still think that they would have had a slip up every once and a while.

Ester really came threw and helped her. it was pretty crazy how she didn’t alert the police that Grace was in the room locked there. but, i still think that she put two and two together, with the ending, but i still think she was so amazing and helpful to Grace.

the ending was so amazing. it really showed how kick ass Grace was, and that she actually grew some balls, since the start. i think that she did what was best for what happened and all the hell that has been threw.

trigger warnings– killing dogs, kidnapping, starvation, descriptive scenes about dead dog bodies.

grace- she was pretty bad ass in the end, but never did anything in the start, which i found pretty annoying. but, i think that she did what was best for her, and really stuck up to what she believes in herself.

jack- i hated him so much. he was such a dick, and couldn’t believe that nobody every thought anything bad of him, since i thought it was so obvious to me.

the writing style was so amazing. i really like how they told it, from when they where dating and when they got married, and then later got when Grace was locked in the room. she did a very good job of writing a stressful situation and everything really brings you into the story.

anyway, that’s it for today. i feel like this is such a bad review, which is crazy since i loved this book so much, but i feel like whenever i love a book, it’s always harder.

the upside of falling review

hello everyone! today i am going to be reviewing the upside of falling by Alex Light. i gave this book 4/5 stars. it was a pretty good book, but i still had some issues with it.

this is a wattpad story, that later got published. and it read like a wattpad story, but was somehow better then most of them. it was still very cliche and had no real point, and very messy plot points. but, i still think it was better than most wattpad books published.

the main point in this book is Becca and Brett getting together and fake dating to help them both in high school. and i don’t mind reading about faking dating, especially if it is well done. but, this one was pretty much to all the boys i’ve loved before. and i honestly didn’t think it was that different, only football instead of lacrosse.

there is also no character development with these characters. you would expect these characters to grow with all the shit they go threw, but no. they stay the same, with minor differences with hating their family more and thinking everything was a lie in books.

this whole book was branded as a love story, but it was pretty much family drama. i thought going into this, i was going to get some cute and fluffy story, which it was to some degree, but there was a whole lot of family drama with Brett’s family. and it was honestly so annoying and i just hated it so much.

but, everyone overreacts over everything. when Brett broke up with Becca, and they weren’t really dating, she freaked out and damaged all of her books. and when Brett’s father was walking with some girl, he punched him in the face, and then Brett fell to the floor even though he punched his dad.

the pacing was overall really good. everything happened at a nice pace, and i could tell that this was weeks in the making. which i actually found really surprising.

and this book was told in two povs, which i liked a lot since we could see what was going on in each persons life, and we also got told how each person thinks about whatever, which i liked a lot.

Becca- she overreacted on everything in the world. she is a book worm, which i really liked, but she thought that all those stories are true. and its unbelievable, since it’s just fabricated romance stories.

Brett– i found that he was pretty stuck up and acted like a god damn child. he pouted when he sees his dad didn’t go to his football game, since he was WORKING. its like god damn it, he’s making sure you have a house and have food, and you’re just crying 24/7.

anyway, that’s it for today. i actually really liked it, even though i talked about more of the negative thing in this book, but i still think it was a very cute rom com.

fix her up review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about fix her up by Tessa Bailey. i gave this book 2.75/5 stars. this was decent in the start, but it just got worse and worse as it went on, and with all of the issues that arrive.

i knew going into the book that this was about an MLB player, who gets hurt and he can’t play anymore. and i thought it will be about Travis coming out, and being your all American guy in this small town. but, no it wasn’t, it was pretty much a pity party for Travis, since he got kicked out/left the MLB over and over again. and it was so annoying since it was all about Travis and how he was so depressed and doesn’t have a job anymore.

with what i already said, Travis acted like a child all the time. all he did was whiny kid, that didn’t get his way. or in his case, when he gets told no he can’t play. i guess everyone acting like a child was just a common theme in this book.

a good part of this book was Georgie having a quarter life crisis because she is a 23-26 year old girl, and everyone treats her like a baby. and for god sake, she is a clown. and its like you dress as a clown for children birthday parties, so yeah you will be looked at as a kid.

Travis called Georgie ‘baby girl’ every other page, and Travis got called “two bat sizes” because of how big his dick is. it’s just so annoying, since Georgie wants to be looked at as an adult, but he calls her baby girl. and she didn’t even care, she just let him do it over and over again. and with Travis’ stupid nickname from the town, it just makes him seem more cocky and so arrogant, and not cute like the author most likely wanted it to come out.

Travis and Georgie pretty much had sex anywhere and everywhere. they had sex in Georgie’s parents garage and also in a public park baseball field, which is just insane. and this was just so crazy and i have no clue why the editor and agent let it stay in, since it was just so gross.

i’ve kinda already talked about it, but Travis is way to confident about his dick. he called himself ‘two bat sizes’ for crying out loud. and i just think it was so stupid and unbelievable. especially since this is wrote by a female.

there was also a ton of sexy talk between Travis and Georgie. it was so crazy because it’s like this author have never watched a rom com or sexual movie in her life, or let alone a book. since it was just so cringey and i could not take it whatsoever.

they live in a pretty small town in New York, and everyone knows each other. and Georgie, her sister, their sister in law Kristen, and Rosie all created this club where they talk about their husbands. and Kristen told the whole damn town. people don’t know what a secret is, which is just so annoying, even though this had no plot point whatsoever.

Travis told Georgie many times that he never wants to get married, and especially to Georgie. and the next thing you know is that Travis gets on national TV and asks her to marry him. which is just so annoying, since he jut goes back and forth many times.

more positively, Travis and Georgie had good chemistry threw out the book, which was pretty great. the tropes where also pretty amazing with fake dating, childhood crush, and brothers best friend.

Travis- he is such a cocky, hot headed, and controlling characters. and it wasn’t even in a good way, it was just plan out boring and possessive. and he just thinks that he is the best character in the world, and ultimately has the best dick.

Georgie– she is so annoying and childish, since she was all about growing up, but she lets Travis call her ‘baby girl’ and is a clown. she is such a childish character since she still acted like the thirteen old girl that is acts like a crazy person when there is a poster of harry styles shirtless in a magazine.

as for the writing, it was so bad and described all the sex scenes to a t. and i just thought it was so bad, with all the metaphors and similes. i could not tell if this was 3 days, 3 weeks, or 3 months in time.

anyway, that’s it for today. it was a pretty shitty book, and can’t believe the second book, and gave this book the time of day. since i hated it so much. and sorry this is such a long post, since i had a ton to talk about.

my favorite half night stand review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about my favorite half night stand by Christina Lauren. i gave this book 3/5 stars. i liked this book a lot, but i still had a couple issues with this book, even though i love this author duo so much.

my biggest issue was that this was all supposed to be about Red and Millie getting together and having sex, but i feel like the sex was just very childish. both of the characters where older, roughly 27-35, but they acted like teenagers when they where having sex. from all the romances i read, it was steamy, and more of a two adult feel, this wasn’t the same feel. when this whole book is pretty much about sex.

this book also took place in California, which was pretty normal, but there wasn’t any food besides salads. i normally do not care about the food they eat, but damn it was insane.

but, the dating app was so cool. i’ve never read a romance novel with the dating app was a central point. and really drove the main characters together. and i feel like it was a good part of the book, and i wish they added more of it into.

the next part is somewhat of a spoiler, but this book took a turn from all about Millie, to more about Catherine. it was kind of annoying, but i guess since they are the same person, it doesn’t really matter, but i personally didn’t like it. i feel like it did add to the story, but i think it was useless for it to happen.

but, i love their friend group so much. i think it was so cute, and i think they all complemented each other. they where all helping each other get a girl/guy. and they just want what is best for each other. which i thought was so cute. but, they also work with each other, which is so cool.

with how amazing the friend group is, i have no clue who anyone is. all the friends seemed like the same person, and all of their friends just acted the same. i couldn’t tell you who anyone is. but, i still loved the friend group and how supportive they where.

Reid and Millie where so amazing together. they really wanted to get each other with an amazing person, and it drew them closer together. and i think it was pretty cool to see these people from being best friends, to lovers.

Millie- personally, i think the authors tried to hard to make her feel different and not like your basic person. and i didn’t care that she basically cat fished Reid, since she was scared what he was going to think bad about her, when they already had sex. she was the one that did the bad thing, since she freaking cat fished him.

Reid- he was a pretty nice character. but, also a very boring person. he was pretty much the basic wake up, eat, and work over and over again. but, i do like how he was a very family man. he also just wanted what is best for Millie, and wanted her to get with someone who is nice to her.

anyway, that’s it for today. i didn’t like this one, but also didn’t hate it, but i think it was probably their worst book, since there was barely any communication what so ever, where all their books always have such good communication, where this one didn’t and just felt off.

conceal don’t feel review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about conceal don’t feel by Jen Calonita. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i really wish i liked this book so much more than i did, but i think a lot of people will like it.

my biggest issue with this book, is that this is an exactly like the movie. there was nothing was different, besides that fact that Anna was away and Elsa was with Hans. it feels like they just copied the movie, which i didn’t care for.

another issue, it was told that that Anna would be anyway from Elsa, but she was only away for a couple chapters, then she found out. i honestly wish they dragged out the whole fact that Elsa didn’t know Anna and whatnot. everything just moved so damn quick, which was so stupid.

but, i feel like when Anna got told that her real parents are the dead queen and king, she freaked out. which, i don’t honestly care if they didn’t tell her. but Anna freaked out, and pretty much went crazy, which i guess i understand. but, she just needs to realize that her real parents just wanted to protect her.

i didn’t really like the writing style. it was meh, and i felt like a 5th grader was writing it, which is so stupid and sucks. but, i never liked this authors books, or the few that i read, so i’m not even picked it up.

all the characters where so underdeveloped. they could have made Anna developed from when she was told about the parents, then when she met Elsa, and then again when she became the official princess. but, she stayed the same amount of childish girl.

and apparently Elsa didn’t leave her room for three years, and she only had Olaf, which had to be so annoying, since in the book and movie is annoying. but, i never knew why everyone loved him, and this just proved it more and more.

anyway, that’s it for today. i hated this book so much, and i can’t that i actually finished it. the next reviews should be longer, since i enjoy them more than this.
