after review

hello everyone! today i am going to talk about after by Anna Todd. I gave this book a good ole 1/5 stars. i hated this book so so much, and will explain more why i didn’t like it.

i’ll say this when i talk about Tessa as a character. but, she acted like such a good girl, and also a grandma. She acted like everyone would end up in jail, but also that they where all such drunks and druggies. but also that she wasn’t like most girls.

as for the boyfriend, Tessa worshiped him, and Noah worshiped her. like this was some Jesus level stuff. they only dated for maybe a year, and they never did anything but kiss once or twice. and yeah, i mean she was faithful to him for a while, but still she did cheat and whatever. which, i guess was okay, since she did get something ‘good’ out of it.

Todd couldn’t write characters for nothing. since everyone acted like the same person, and pretty much the same person, just minor differences, like Tessa reads and dresses like the church girl she is. but, nobody has a personality and if they do, it was the same as the next person.

Tessa is such a drama queen, and literally cries every five minutes. you could literally look at her, and she would ball her eyes out and says that everything is wrong and she did everything wrong. and she literally thought that everyone is out to get her to some degree.

now lets talk about the writing, it took literally 10 chapters to do one party, or even to talk about the apartment and what it looked like. it was just so insane. but, it was also insane that they literally described everything in detail and every thought that went through their heads. it was so insane, since there was things in so much detail, and didn’t need to be wrote that much. we literally saw every thing that Tessa did, like what she ate, the color of underwear she wore, how this looks.

as for the college aspect, Tessa went to school every day, and we got told each thing that happened in her classes. but as the book goes on, she gets a job, and then college goes out the window. she literally stopped going to college, or as it seemed. all she did about college, was go to parties and talk to Hardin.

with Hardin and Tessa’s relationship, it is such a toxic relationship. all they did was fight, and then make up in the end. Tessa obviously couldn’t trust Hardin, so i don’t even know why she stayed with him. and in the start he was such a dick to her, so i don’t even know what she saw in him.

as i read the book, i thought Hardin was such a bad character, but as the book goes on, you realize that Hardin is not the devil, it is actually Tessa mother. she basically disowned Tessa cause she is with someone that loves her who has tattoos and is a bad boy. it was so insane, but i can see where the mom was going. since she is rebelling to some degree, and shouldn’t push Noah on you.

this book has the worst stereotypes. for example, Tessa says that all teenagers drink and do drugs, and are no good. but also that they always get in trouble, and also don’t study and fail school. and this happened so many times, and it was just insane.

all these characters in this book are so dramatic. Tessa cried every five minutes. you could pretty much just look at her, and then she’d start crying. and all the characters did do some of the same things, but just yelled and drank for their emotions.

Tessa Young– she is one of the most grandma characters in the world. she is so boring, and has so much ocd, but won’t say it. Tessa acts like such a goody two shoes. where she won’t kiss Hardin, since she has a boyfriend, and it just got so crazy. she is such your basic church girl, and such dresses like one.

Hardin Scott– he was such a dick of a character. i feel like in the start, he was a kind of a nice character, and then he just turned into a dick as the story went on. but, i think he did use Tessa, not only the bet, but more and more.

anyway, that’s it for today. i know this was longer then my other blog posts, since i did have a ton of feelings on this book. but, the next ones should be shorter, and more to the point.

dark passage review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about dark passage by Ridley Pearson. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i loved this book so much, and all the characters and the plot in general.

one of my favorite parts of this whole book was how we saw Charlene grow in her relationship. she didn’t grow just romantically, but also friendship wise. since she did get in a romantic relationship, but she also grew closer to the other keepers. since she does have to choose between two boys.

but, the girls did have a bigger part. even though two of them weren’t there, they were still in Orlando. but, the b plot for this book did include Amanda getting mad at Finn, since Finn has to pick between Amanda and Storey. but, Charlene has to pick between Finn and Maybeck, which is a good part of some of the book.

the whole kidnapping part was insane. it was a longer part of the book, but it was so crazy. since we got to see everything, and the keepers trying to find him. i’m not going to say who was, or what happened in the end. but damn, it was crazy as hell.

Pearson did leave loose ends. which would most likely be talked about in the next book. there was all the questions about Finn’s mom, and how she is doing and how did she get off the ship. but, also about Dillard, and about the kids that are staying in the pipes.

as for the ending, i think it was satisfying to some degree. i think Pearson did leave a lot of things out, but also think that it would led up to the next book, which would be good. but, i think the ending happened very quickly, but did tell hat happened in each relationship and that everyone was safe.

i really hate Storey, even though i don’t think she makes it to long. but, i think she will add more drama to the story, since her and Amanda are fighting for Finn. as for Mattie, i’m so excited to see where that goes, since i do not remember what so ever. but, she does add so much to the story, and i can’t wait for more of her.

for the characters, i feel there was some development for each of them. but i did think that they could have grown more, but it was mostly between relationships. but, at least it was something.

anyway, that it is for today. i am so ready to read the next couple books, since it was so amazing, and everything. and i cannot wait to read and see where all the relationships go, even though i already read these books. and sorry that this review is all over the place.

red, white, and royal blue review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about red, white, and royal blue by Casey McQuiston. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this was such a cute read all around. and had so many cute things happen.

this book has the best banner and humor. they had some of the funniest jokes, but they weren’t even trying for the most time, it just happened. it was such a nice little touch in the book, since most of it was very political and hard hitting in a way.

there is also a great characters, side and main, but also amazing friendships. all of their friends, family, and people that they work with, help them get from point a to point b. and ultimately want what is best for them.

i appreciate the intimacy between Alex and Henry. there wasn’t to much description of what they where actually doing, just setting you up, and then they talk. it didn’t feel fetishization  from a white author about a m/m romance which is so important to me.

one of the other things that i loved so so much, was how Alex questioned his sexuality. it was for more then half of the book, and really made everything seem real. he really thought about it long and hard, but it was so amazing to read. and nobody told him not to do it, and just let it happen, but help him through the whole process.

there was also amazing pacing in the book. it didn’t speed though important things, and didn’t so slow through the unimportant things. it just helped the story really come to life, which was so amazing. and nothing was to forced, and never did anything to toxic.

as for tropes, it is one of the best enemies to lovers i have ever read. they start out as people who aren’t friends, and didn’t get along, to friends, and then romantically involved with each other.

Alex– he was such a great character, and it really went through some really shit. since he did question his sexuality and all of his relationships. but, he also always pushed Henry, in staying with him, and both of them coming out to the public.

Henry– i really loved how he really cared for Alex, and there whole relationship. he also was always so nervous about how he freaked out about the press saw the kiss. but, Henry really cared for Alex, and always wanted what was best for Alex

anyway, that is it for this review. i loved this book so much, and the whole romance in general. i understand why this book gets as much hype. i wish i did read this book sooner then i did.

10 blind dates review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about 10 blind dates by Ashley Elston. i gave this book out of 4/5 stars. but, it was still a very good book, even though i gave it three stars.

my biggest issue with this book as a whole was that the family was so confusing. they really just threw names at us, and i honestly had no clue with half of the people are, and who their kids are along with their husband or wife. but, it is a great book if you want a family involve romance.

but, the relationship with her family was so cute. i loved how they all interact. they all wanted what was best for her which was so nice. and they all cared for each other so much, and her to find a new boyfriend. they where so invested in Sophie’s love life.

for the blind dates. it was such a cute read when they did all the different and fun dates. but some of them where really weird, like the Nativity with Handy Harold, which was so awkward, but also so fun like the Game of Thrones bowling with her uncles. it just makes it so much fun, since Sophie hated it all so much.

the whole book has such a Christmas theme, which is such a cool atmosphere. but, it could be read at any time of the year, and really brings the Christmas spirit out, even if its June.

with the whole Griffin fiasco, it was so annoying that he kept coming over and over again. i mean he did break up with her, since he did call her “boring,” but then he acts like she was the villain. he comes to her grandparents house many times, just to say i’m sorry over and over again.

but, there in this book, Sophie’s sister is pregnant for most of this book, and later has the baby. it was so weird, and somewhat of a trigger to people, since she does have issues with her pregnancy, so that could potential be a trigger to some people.

Sophie– she was such a nice character, who went through some real shit threw out this book. i hated how she was used by her boyfriend, and didn’t have that close of friends back at home. she really went through some pretty funny things with the whole dates, which i liked so much.

Wes– i would personal call Wes a main character in this book. he was such a nice character. he was so into the whole blind dates, which is so cute. but, also as being with another girl added so much to the story. Wes was also such a friend throughout the whole thing, by helping her with all dates and taking her to her sister.

the next part is a spoiler, i loved how in the end Wes and Sophie got together. granted, i wish it happened sooner in the book, so we got to see more of them together. but, i still loved how they did get together, and didn’t make everything all for nothing.

anyway, i hope you enjoyed this review. it was such a fun read, and i really think a lot of people will enjoy this book. but, it was such a cute read, and had really nice character that wanted what was better for her. it was super cool that i get to read about this big family, when i come from a smaller family.

April new books

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the new books that are coming out in April that i’m excited for. granted, i’m not going to get to these books any time soon, since i all the library’s by me are closed.

the lucky one by Liz Lawson. this book comes out April 7th. this book is all about a girl named May who is a survivor of a school shooting, in which her twin brother died in. then there is Zach, whose mother defended the school shooter, which made him loose everything in his life. but, they meet, and learn to cope with each other.

time of our life by Emily Wibberly and Austin Siegemund Broka. this book comes out April 21st. this one isn’t a direct Shakespeare retelling, but it does have elements. this sounds like such a cute book about a boy trying to hold on to his sick mom, and a girl who cannot wait to go to college.

so this is love by Elizabeth Lim. this book comes out April 7th. this is a retelling about Cinderella and what if she never tried on the glass slipper. i love this book series, and the originally Disney tales, so this one sounds so amazing and cool, just like the other ones.

what i like about you by Marisa Kanter. think book comes out April 7th. this book seems so cool, but also so different. it is online, but also in real life. the punch line for this book is “can a love triangle have only two people.” so, it seems kinda different, but also kinda like your basic YA books.

late to the part by Kelly Quindlen. this book comes out April 21st. this is a LGBTQ+ book, so i’m pretty excited to read it. this is all about good girl, Codi who has never kissed anyone and never been to a party. but, when her friends drag her to one, she sees guy kissing another guy, who takes her under his wing.

best laid plans by Cameron Lund. this book comes out April 7th. I’ve seen this book all around Instagram and twitter, and the plot seem so cool. this sounds like such a sex-positive rom-com, that i cannot wait to read.

the perfect escape by Suzanne Park. this one comes out April 7th. this sounds like such a fun read. Nate wants to be rich, so when his friend tells him to commit a grade fraud. but, Kate tells him about a survivalist game, which if they won, they would get a bunch of money.

meet me at midnight by Jessica Penning. this book comes out April 7th. this is all about two swimmers who have to spend a summer at the late house together. but, Sidney and Asher don’t click, but their families get kick out of their lake houses. so, they do many pranks against the woman that kicked them out.

Crave by Tracy Wolff. this book comes out April 7th. This book has been over instagram, and it sounds so good. but, this is all about vampires and a boarding school. it has been compared to twilight, but with a more likable main character.

anyway, that is all the books i’m excited for in April. it is a pretty good new release month, which is always good. but, i won’t get to these books anytime soon, since the whole quarantine and nothing is open.

April tbr

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books i plan on reading in April. i do have a secret tbr, which will be posted later in the month. but, these are what i hope to read besides the secret books.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber. this is the bookish.love.book.club book of the month for April, and since i own this i’m so excited for this one. this is all about sisters and magic, which sounds so great to read about.

yes, no, maybe so by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed. this is another book club book, and one that i was supposed to read last month, but didn’t. i’m pretty excited to read this book, since its all about elections and falling in love. but, i do hope it is a good read, even though i don’t really care for the books these authors write.

the insider by Ridley Pearson. this is the last book in the kingdom keeper series. but, i’m so excited to read this book since i just finished the other book. this is also the first book that they are in Disneyland, which is so exciting to read about.

the return series by Ridley Pearson. this is the second book series following the kingdom keepers, and it’s highly unlikely that i’d actually get to these books. but, these books are also set in Disneyland, and are between 2014 and 1950.

don’t forget about me by Mhairi McFarlane. this sounds like such a heartbreaking, but happy book, with so many funny moments. but, this is all about a girl coming home and finding her boyfriend hooking up with someone else, and then finding her way to a new boyfriend and new job.

get a life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. this is such a cute book, with the main character, Chloe Brown, who creates this list/plan of things she wants to. but, of course there is a romance, which i heard is super cute. i also heard that this takes place in England, which sounds so cool.

Conceal, don’t feel by Jen Calonita. this is Disney twisted tale, all about Elsa and Anna. the main twist about this book was all about if Elsa and Anna didn’t know each other. this sounds so interesting, since the movie is mostly about sisters, so it will be so cool to see them not know each other.

Frankly in love by David Yoon. this has been on my TBR for months, pretty much since it came out. but, this is a book of the month for a book club, so i will get to this book hopefully.

anyway, that’s it for today. i’m so excited for all of these books. but, i do have spring break in April, so there is a good chance that i can get to these books in April.

march wrap up

hello everyone! today i am going to talk about all the books that i read in March. I read a ton of good books this month, and this was definitely the month of adult romances and ebooks, but not complaining since they are all so good.

the wedding party by Jasmine Guillory. i gave this book 4.5/5 stars. this was pretty good book overall. but, i felt like a lot of the things that happened where close to the proposal. the whole book was an enemies to lovers, but it didn’t have to much of an enemies to lovers aspect since they got together really quickly.

the right swipe by Alisha Rai. i gave this book 2.5/5 stars. the plot was so interesting and i overall liked it. but, the actual content was so boring and i couldn’t get into it that much. i also didn’t care that much for the characters and the whole romance as a whole.

the kiss quotient by Helen Hoang. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i love this book so much. it was such a cute read, with the whole male escort and how much of a kick ass as Stella is. it was such a feminist novel, but it did have a lot of sex, but it was all consensual.

meet cute by Helena Hunting. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this book was pretty cute, but also kinda crazy. there was a good 4 chapters about Emme’s period, which was pretty crazy, but also pretty funny. but, it was crazy because Kailyn kept throwing herself at Dax, but also still in love with his tv show.

twice in a blue moon by Christiana Lauren. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this was a pretty good book, and had a bunch of cute moments, but also pretty annoying at times. but, i really liked how we could see London and Hollywood and how their life is as a someone who is in movies.

10 blind dates by Ashley Elston. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i enjoyed this book, but most of the family was so confusing, but most of them where really funny and very nice to each other. it did took forever to have Sophie get with the boy she liked.

Red, white, and royal blue by Casey McQuiston. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this was such a cute read. i loved the romance so much, since it was just so pure and they where just so good together. it is such a funny book, with so many heartfelt moments.

Dark Passage by Ridley Pearson. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this was such a good book, even though so many things happen, good and bad things. but, it was such a quick read, but it did take me a week to read, since i didn’t read to much in that week.

after by Anna Todd. i gave this book 1/5 stars. this was easily the worst book i read year, even though it’s only March. but, there is nothing good about this book, and if anyone likes it, they don’t have a good taste in books whatsoever. but, all the characters where some of the most boring characters in the world.

anyway, that was it for today. it was such a good month for reading, even though most of the books were somewhat of the same genre and plot, but i still liked so many of these books.

march book haul

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books that i got in march. i hauled four book, and most of them are sequels to books, so i can’t really talk about them to much, but i’ll still try to talk about them a little still.

Insurgent by Veronica Roth. this is the second book in the divergent series, which i never read, but seen the movie. i’m really excited to read this book eventually, whenever i get to the other books.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth. this is the last book in the divergent series. which, i can’t say to much, because of all the spoilers.

the insider by Ridley Pearson. this is the last book in the Kingdom Keeper series. i’m so excited to reread this one again. but, this is the first time that the Keepers are in California, and about them leaving Orlando to Disneyland.

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu. i’m so excited to read this book. it is a historical fiction books, in which it follows Mozart’s sister and her musically journey and how she goes to a fantasy world.

anyway, that it is for today. i hauled some good books this month. i’m so excited to read all of these books, even if it will be a couple months before i get to it.

twice in a blue moon review

hello everyone! today i am going to be reviewing twice in a blue moon by Christiana Lauren. I gave this book 4/5 stars. i did enjoy this book a lot, but i didn’t like it as much as the unhoneymooners, but it was still a quality read.

i’m going to start the actual review which is one of the things i loved so much was a good chuck of the book was completely told in London, then we switched to Hollywood, which was so so fun. and i really love the whole Hollywood drama and just Hollywood in general.

but, it was really cool how it was told in then and now format. it added so much to the story since you can show the story of how they feel in love in London, got heartbroken and fell out of love, but then fall back in love in Hollywood. they didn’t even jump back and forth, it was strictly in the same year, which was so amazing.

the book also had a couple different plots, but they where all blended together, and they all work hand in hand. Tate tried to build her relationship with her dad, but also launch her acting career, and also the whole romance, which Sam is there too. so everything is blended together, which was so cool.

but, reading the story, the whole romance didn’t flow. they where together in London, and Sam was a complete dick in London and after, but then when she sees him again, she just lets him walk back into her life and doesn’t bat an eye. Tate didn’t even care that he screwed her over once, so he could do it again.

the story is told mainly in Tate’s journey and becoming a big name actor, but it still told the story of Sam’s life. so, the whole book was in Tate’s POV, but it still told Sam’s whole life story, but not in a info dump. i really liked it since we knew what was happening in both of their life at the same time.

I’ve seen this a little bit on Goodreads and Instagram, which was the discussion about the sex in this book. out of ten, i would rate it a 4 of how explicit it was, compared to other romances out there. but, it wasn’t fade to black, since they talked through most of the sex.

Tate- Tate is one of the characters that can fight for herself. she was very headstrong and fights for what she thinks is right. but, i think that she shouldn’t just get with Sam, even though he screwed him over. but, love makes you crazy i guess.

Sam- he was probably the worst character in this book, besides the father. but, he was never a good character, even in the start. he always had this player lumberjack vibe that was coming off.

as for the tropes, it was a second chance romance. which was what the book was all about. since all the scenes with them together, or Sam is watching Tate (edward cullen, who?) but, i think the romance was still good, but also so toxic, since he freaked out when he saw her co star at the beach with friends, but also in a sex scene that he wrote. i just hated some of it so much.

this paragraph will be full of spoilers!! but, i found it so weird how Sam told the whole world about how Tate was the love child this famous movie star, like Leo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep famous. and when they meet again she is so easy to fall in love again and forgive him, even though he did something that messed up her life somewhat.

anyway, that’s it for today. it was such a good book, but still had moments when it wasn’t that amazing. and i didn’t care for some of the character, but there was still a bunch that made the story good.

meet cute review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about Meet Cute by Helena Hunting. i gave this book 4/5 stars. it was such a cute read, even with some things that i never read before, but it was still such a cute read.

so, i never read a romance book with a kid in the whole romance. granted, Daxton didn’t have a kid, but it was his little sister. Both Daxton and Kailyn both took their needs into account, and took in Emme’s needs and wants in their mind. I really liked how Emme pushed them together.

It was such a cute read, and had a bunch of dorky moments. one of the dorkiest thing that happened in the book was how Dax called Kailyn when Emme got her period for the first time. as much as it was cute, it was ridiculous. for one, it took three to four chapters just to buy the tampons. i’m sorry, but it does not take that long to buy tampons and give them to the her.

as the title says, it was such a cute read. when it started, but it later turned to tragedy, custody battles, lies, and betrayal. it was super serious, but it still became cute and had all these heartfelt moments. Hunting really took a bunch of serious things and put a fun twist on them.

one of the weirdest things in this book besides the whole period thing, was how Kailyn kept talking about Dax’s show, and buying things with his face on. it was just so awkward and uncomfortable. but i get where Hunting was coming from, but it still felt that she was only with him at times just because she likes his TV Show.

Dax- he was such a sweet character and really cared for his family and Kailyn. he tried his best, even though he was knew to all of this. i really felt for him, since all of this shit was happening to him in matter of months.

Kailyn- she was one of the most headstrong and doesn’t fall for your shit characters that i read in romance. but, one of my issues with her was she was using Dax to some extent, so she will get a promotion. Kailyn did really care for Emme and Dax, and really loved her job.

if you want a very dramatic book, this is definitely the one for you. the aunt wants to take custody of Emme, and does all this shit to try to get her. but, in the end we learn that the aunt is framing Emme and Dax and making it look like Emme is doing to bad things, and that Dax isn’t stable. which, didn’t help her case whatsoever. but, i think it did add conflict to the story.

anyway, that it it for today. it was a very enjoyable book, even though the journey was very rocky and had many issues for better and for worst. but, i think it was still a good read.
