March TBR

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books i plan on reading in March. i’m going to say it right now, this is going to be one long ass post, since i want to read a ton of new releases this month. so please pray for my sanity.

dark passage by Ridley Pearson. this is the sixth book in the Kingdom Keeper series, so i can’t say to much about this book. but, this book is about the keepers on the cruise ship, just like the one before this one.

the insider by Ridley Pearson. this is the last book in the original book series, so yet again i can’t say to much about it, since it is a squeal. but, this is also the first book when the keepers are in California, which is super exciting.

throw like a girl by Sarah Henning. i have so much hope that i’ll like this book, even though i’m not a big sports fan. but, i think the whole softball player leaving her school and going to a new school is super cool premise.

the similars by Rebecca Hanover. this book reminds me so much of girls with sharp sticks, and i love that book so much, so i’m hoping i like this one a lot too. plus, i think it has to do something with twins, which is super exciting, since i love things that are about twins, especially if there is some type of issue.

the grace year by Kim Liggett. i heard so many people talking about this book on bookstagram, so i knew i had to pick it up. it’s somewhat like the similar, but i think that it will be pretty cool, since it sounds so much like the hunger games and divergent in the end.

10 blind dates by Ashley Elston. i heard so many booktubers talk about this, and some of them raved about it, and then some said it was bad, but i hope it is better, more then worst, since it’s a cool idea. plus, it’s kinda Christmasy, which i think will be a fun plot to a book.

layoverland by Gabby Noone. this book sounds so interesting, since i’ve never really seen a book with this type of topic. plus, i don’t think it has to much religion in it, which is really nice since i’m not that kind of person who reads religious books. plus, it is also a romance, which will super cool.

the last confession of Autumn Casterly by Meredith Tate. i’m so excited for this book, since i read a book with somewhat of the same premise of this book, so i’m super excited. plus, haven’t seen to many people talking about this book, so i’m kinda excited to read this underhyped book.

yes, no, maybe so by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed. this is a book club botm, but if i don’t read this book this month, i won’t be to upset, since i don’t care for each of these authors books. but, i think it has the potential to be a cute, but political book, even though i’m not into political books, but it still might be okay.

winterwood by Shea Enrshaw. this is another botm book for a book club. but, this sounds like such a cool book with a magical woods. but, i feel like we see a bunch of books with magical forests, so i hope it isn’t so tacky, but i still think it might be good.

anyway, i hope you enjoyed this massive tbr. but there is so many books i want to read this month. and most of them are new releases, which is super cool so i can hopefully jump in the hype well it is still a thing.

February wrap up

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books i’ve read in February. i read a bunch of great books, but some where very disappointing.

one of us is next by Karen M. McManus. i gave this book 2.5/5 stars. i was so excited for this book, so much were i dropped everything to read this book for days, and what did i get? i whole lot of disappointment. and all the character were so boring and stupid, along with the whole ‘true or dare.’

the proposal by Jasmine Guillory. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i really loved this book, even though this book and the author get a lot of hate in the book twitter universe. granted, i could see how people hated it, how the main characters didn’t spend times with friends, just each other, and how they never got together till the last couple pages.

everything everything by Nicola Yoon. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i hated this book so much, which was so surprising since i loved it the first time i read it. but, sick girl and overbearing mother’s relationship was so toxic, since she lied to her since she was a baby.

power play by Ridley Pearson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this book was so amazing and such a great book. on the downside, there was so much kissing, it was insane. it was still super cool that we can see all the romantic relationships that are in the making throughout this book.

shell game by Ridley Pearson. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i liked this one a bit less then the one that i just talked about. but, Finn was a massive flirt throughout the book, which i found kinda funny, because that is what they say about Charlie. but, they also talked about Percy Jackson books, which i found pretty cool.

a heart so fierce and broken by Brigid Kemmerer. i gave this book 2/5 stars. just like the first one, this was so disappointing when i finished this. not to much things happened, and if they did, nothing good came out of it, and it was still very boring.

Jane anonymous by Laurie Faria Stolarz. i gave this book 4/5 stars. to say the least, this book was super cool and very interesting. i thought all whole back and forth occurred and how everything was like a piece of the puzzle. but, i wish the family and friends were more understanding with her not wanting to go out, since she just got back from being kidnapped.

when the stars lead to you by Ronni Davis. i gave this book 3/5 stars. as a whole, i found this book pretty stupid. the romance was so toxic, and it would never have worked out in the end. i hate to say this, since it’s such an important topic, but the whole depression part in the end was so lame and didn’t do anything in the book.

every other weekend by Abigail Johnson. this book was a dnf. i really didn’t like the writing style and the whole plot and all the adults in this book.

don’t read the comments by Eric Smith. this one was also a dnf. this one was super boring since i’m not into video games and the whole gaming community.

anyway, i hope you enjoy. most of these do have reviews up, if you want a more in depth review, you can go there to find it. but, i hope you enjoy this wrap up.

February book haul

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books that i hauled this month. i hauled six book, which four were from my library, which they gave to me, one for valentines day and then from owlcrate.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. I read this book last year in July i believe, and it was so good, and i was so excited to own this. plus, i really like how the whole book is told in verse, since the main character is a poet, it was so cool. plus, it’s signed so that’s cool.

the perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I’ve already read this book, and i didn’t like it so much, but this is also signed. plus, this is a different cover that i owned before this. and there is even a bonus chapter, which i really cool.

Impostors by Scott Westerfeld. this one is also signed by the author, which yet again is super cool. plus, it’s all about twins, which is really excited, since i love books about twins and siblings in general.

Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin. I’ve seen this book everywhere, so i was really excited to see this one. so many people have been talking about this book, and the synopsis sounds so cool in general. plus, the cover and color is gorgeous.

straight on till morning by Liz Braswell. i’m so excited for this book, since i’m a massive fan of Disney and this series as a general. i’m so excited to read this in and the rest of the series in general. plus, this is a peter pan book, which is so excited.

all the stars and teeth by Adalyn Grace. this was the owlcrate botm, and i never heard of this book to much before, but it still sounds so interesting. it also gives me some Little Mermaid vibes with Princess, Pirate, Stowaway, mermaid, and a queen. it sounds so cool and i cannot wait to read this.

anyway, that is it for today. i got a bunch of books, that i’m so excited to read since they are all so interesting sounding. but, i hope you all enjoyed this, and hauled a bunch of great books this month.

disney book tag

hello everyone! today i am going to be doing the Disney book tag. not many people know, but I am a massive Disney fan, so when i saw this tag, i knew i had to do it, since i love Disney so much.

The Little Mermaid – A character who is out of their element

Eliza and her monsters by Francesca Zappia

i would definitely have to say this one, since she is so used to being an online personal, and all of her friends on online, she doesn’t have a concrete in real life friends beside her boyfriend, whose name i forgot.

Cinderella – A character who does through a major transformation

Aubrey Rose from Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo

i would say, in the first book she was very nervous, but as the series go on, she becomes more independent and does take no as an answer. plus, she finally comes to the conclusion that she loves Thomas.

Snow White – A book with an eclectic cast of characters

the kingdom keepers by Ridley Pearson

i feel like it is such a good one for this prompt A. its a Disney story and B. all the characters are an amazing cast of characters and all have different races/accents and all do something differently.

Sleeping Beauty – A book that put you to sleep

if i stay by Gayle Forman, Looking for Alaska by John Green, or Perks of being a wallflower by Stephan Chbosky.

it was hard just to pick one, since i hated them all so much, and they all put me to sleep.

The Lion King – A character who had something traumatic happen to them in childhood

Ponyboy Curtis from The outsiders by SE Hilton

this one was hard to find a book that fit this but, i think Ponyboy did have some bad things that have happened to him, with his parents getting killed and everything else that has happened.

Beauty & The Beast – A Beast of a book (big book) that you were intimidated by but found the story to be beautiful

a curse so dark and lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

this book is about 500 pages. and it was really big for me, since i read mainly contemporaries, so this book was so big, but it was such a beautiful story when i read it, in a way.

Aladdin – A character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse

Bella Swan from Twilight

i mean she did want to become a vampire, so she did get her wish from Edward and the Cullen’s in general, even though they didn’t gamble for a baby.

Mulan – A character who pretends to be someone or something they are not

Cardan from the Cruel Prince by Holly Black

he really tries to be mean and cruel, when he is really so nice and sweet to Jude as the books go on and their relationship grows.

Toy Story – A book with characters you wish would come to life

stalking jack the ripper by Kerri Maniscalo

i would love for Thomas and Audrey Rose to come to life, since i think they would be so fun and nice to hang out with, and probably go to Disney with.

Disney Descendants – Your fave villain or morally ambiguous character

Maleficent

so technically she isn’t a book character, but she is in the kingdom keeper series, so technically she would count, since she is in a book.

anyway, thank you so much for reading, and i hope you enjoyed. i’m sorry if there was any spelling or grammar mistakes, since WordPress isn’t working to well at the moment, and the text is all weird.

power play review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about power play by Ridley Pearson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i did enjoy this book a ton, but there was still some issues that i’ll talk about.

one of my biggest issues is that, every other pages, someone was either kissing someone, or talking about kissing someone in the friend group. but, i can get passed this whole kissing issue, since they are 15-16 years old and dealing with growing up, instead of if 30 year old talking about kissing and then kissing a bunch of people.

but, i feel like when we get into this story, and series in general, everything became more and more normal. for example, the first book everything seem flat, but as we learnt more and more about all the characters and this world, we could picture all the friendships and everything else that has happening.

Pearson very much gives us a more in depth look of the parks and the way the operate. we got to see Charlene and Maybeck in the power plant, along with more of an in depth look at each of the parts in general, and how the Disney software program works and how it operates.

it was also really cool how we got more of the Disney characters. we got Willa with Ariel, since she did save her, along with a bunch of Toy Stories army men, and many other villains and such. it was super cool to see all of this, and that the princess, Mickey and all the other good characters were on their side.

i also found it was so cool that the five of them saved Disney many times. everything really challenged the keepers, and made them come into their Disney skin. plus, they didn’t only have to defeated the OT’s, but also the OTK’s. and it was nice that Finn could really help Wayne get out of jail, since we got to see him in the ‘flesh,’ and not just through videos or phone calls.

but, i felt the book was also boring, since we got a ton of Philby computer talk. i personally didn’t understand it, since i’m not a computer genius. it was overall boring, but still helped the book in a good way.

anyway, i hope you enjoy this. i really loved this book, along with all the other books, even though i had some issues. needless to say, i cannot wait to continue with this series.

everything everything review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about everything everything by Nicola Yoon. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i’m going to say it flat out, i hated this one with a passion. i’ll get more into everything in the end, along with the illness.

the whole book was the ill teen going against her mother and nurse wishes for every single thing. with meeting Olly, when her mother didn’t like it, and not playing games and watching movies when the nurse told her too. honestly, she was way to rebellious for a late 17 years old to early 18 years old. needless to say, if the mother said to ill teen that she couldn’t drink water that day, she would drink 15 cups.

but, when ill teen became ill adult, the mother will not stop leaving her daughter alone. oh she wants to go on her laptop and not watch some 80s movie, she would throw a bitch fit, when technically she could own a car, a house, and a cat, but she would throw a hissy fit, which will come in the end of this review.

Olly was the typically “boy next door,” along with “i’m not like other boys,” to the tea. all he did was jump from buildings Spider Man style and also save a bunt cake (???) and if you are going to compare the way the boys act in the twilight movie to Olly to hangout with for a night, i would 100% go with the twilight boys if that tells you anything.

i’m not even going to lie, the couple and the romance was generally so stupid. they meet, then within five days, they where already wanting to take a trip around the world and already said “i love you,” which is utterly insane. but, at the time she thought she was sick, but she still risked her life for some boy, who she stalked, and most likely doesn’t even know his last name.

so, if you are not a complete true crime/ police show junkie like i am, you won’t understand this to much, but i’ll try to explain it as best as i can. with the mother tells her daughter that she is sick for her whole life, and that she has this complex illness and overall puts her in a bubble. of course, ill teen learns that she is not actually sick, and has a whole panic attack, which i can understand. but, this whole issue reminded me of the case of Gypsy Rose and DeeDee Blancher, which is also known as the act. granted, this book isn’t as insane as the case, but they both have similar aspects.

anyway, i hope you enjoyed. this has probably been of one of my favorite posts that i wrote in a while, since i found it kinda funny, and overall very bitchy. but, i hope you enjoyed, and didn’t get to annoyed with all the rambling.

the proposal book review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about the proposal by Jasmine Guillory. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i’m not going to lie, but i loved this book so much, and loved all of the characters. but, i did have some minor issues when i read this, which i’ll talk about more.

one of the biggest issues for this book as a whole, are they dating? or are they just a hookup? Nik had a whole argument with Carlos when he said he loves her. it was so annoying, because Nik loved him too, and even thought at time that they are more then just a mindless hookup or friends. it annoyed me so much, since she freaked out so much, then expected Carlos to go back with her.

generally speaking, it was a very cute romance and book in general. i really loved the main characters and all their friends and family, and the whole plot line in general. but, i know the whole proposal in the start has been controversial, but i really liked how her ex boyfriend sent her all the photos and text message.

if you read the book, you’ll completely know what i’m talking about here, but the whole car scene was so awkward. they where waiting for someone, so they decided that it would be appropriate to kiss and get so close to having sex, on a highway of all places.

but, this book has a whole lot of sex it in, and i know a bunch of people talk about it all the time, but i honestly didn’t think it was to much to handle. granted, each chapter did have some type of sex talk in it, but i never found it that unbearable. but, all the talk about the ‘hard nipple’ did make me uncomfortable at parts.

i also think that everything with Carlos family was so cute, and how she brought them dinner at the hospital, along with everything she did for Carlos’ cousin in general, was just so cute, and i could show you that she cared for her and his family in general.

as for the triggers for this book, i would say pregnancy issues and a whole lot of family issues. but, it still is very feminist and has a whole lot of girl power.

but, that’s all for today. i really loved this book, and the characters in general. i think everyone should pick this up, even though it has some negative reviews, but i still think it was really good in the end.

one of us is next review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about one of us is next by Karen M. McManus. i gave this book 2.5/5 stars. i’m not going to lie from the start, i thought i was going to love it, since i loved her other books, but needless to say, i hated it with a passion.

for one, the book was talked about as the whole truth and dare was a main point, but it was talked that the book would have these aspects, but we never got it. the first couple people didn’t do anything about it, then the death and it was happening. and it was really boring to go through this whole book to never really get a name on who did it.

but, i had no clue who any of the characters where that wasn’t the first book characters and the ones that told the story. and all the characters that where friends and could be important, we never got anything, but the people that harassed Maeve, were in the book 24/7.

most of the characters where so stupid. Maeve thought that she could be sick, but what did she do, not tell anyone. where Knox went to somewhere to that was held up by boards. this whole little issue went on and on.

but, the whole bomb was crazy. but, did it do anything to the story? not at all. but, it really showed Nate and Bronwyn getting closer after all their 100 hundred break ups. plus, the families got closer and expected Nate more and more.

anyway, i hope you enjoy. it’d very sad that i didn’t like this book as much as the first book, or even the other book she published. but, i will most likely still read her others that are coming out. anyway, that you so much for reading.

a curse so dark and lonely review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about a curse so dark and lonely by Brigid Kemmerer. i read this for the bookish.love.book.club on Instagram, which i’m a host of, so i gave it a go. but, i gave this book 4/5 stars.

my first big issue with the book was the fact that we got no character introduction. we just got their name and where they live. it was pretty confusing to me, and then all these characters just jumped in later, but when i read more of the story, i could understand the characters more and more.

also, it was branded as a beauty and the beast retelling, when i didn’t get to much of a feeling that it was, besides the whole true love and monster thing. but, i did like most of it, even though it wasn’t that much of a beauty and the beast, but it was still pretty boring at the end.

but, the book was pretty boring. i’m not a person that loves war, so when every there is a book, or just a whole lot of talked about it, makes me not care and overall bored. so, all of this war talk throughout the book, made me super bored.

but, Jake was very annoying, since all he did was complain about everything. when Harper was trying to save them, so they don’t get killed, but all he did was complain. but, when they got to the fantasy world, he complained more and more, when they are in a quote in quote perfect world.

anyway, that’s all i have to say about a curse so dark and lonely. i enjoyed this book quite a bit, and will most likely read the next book in the series, and the series as a whole. but, i hope you enjoyed this little book review

sick kids in love review

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about sick kids in love by Hannah Moskowitz. i gave this book 5/5 stars in the end. but i did have some issues with the book in the end, but also some high points, which i’ll talk about more.

one of the issues was the word that where used. i’m not from New York, or the east coast in general. but, they said y’know all the time. and i’m not sure if that is a real thing, or just an author thing. they also ate pretzels with mustard, which I’ve never seen/heard someone doing.

i also felt the romance was talked about in the start, then once they meet and got together, they completely stop talked about it, till the end sickness. and it’s branded as a book about sick kids, which weren’t talked about enough.

but, Sasha was bisexual, or claimed to be, but got glossed over since there was a sex scene and romance. it was talked about twice, then it was forgotten. but, also the sex scene was uncomfortable to say the least and i wish i forgot about it.

also, they just got together, and they already where talking about babies and marriage. but, it was a week into their relationship. i understand the whole love at first sight, but there was never a thing with love at first sight and now i’m going to marry you and have a kid. but, to teach its own i guess.

but, i really liked how light and funny it was, even though it had a possibly that it could be heavy and depressing. but, i think the humor and a cute love story took away from the sickness.

the last thing i’m going to talk about is the journalism. i enjoyed the whole daily questions, or what ever you want to call them. but, i think Sasha’s answers where annoying, but i still enjoyed them. but, it was annoying how she wouldn’t get with Sasha because her column didn’t like it. it was overall insane.

but, i hope you enjoyed this review. i really loved this book, minus how negative it was. but, i liked how cute and amazing it was.
