best books of 2019

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about the best books of 2019. this is long list, so i’m going to stop and just go into the books. and these books are in no order. there is a couple rereads in here, since i loved them so much.

the anatomical shape of the heart by jenn bennett. this book was so cute and i loved the characters. plus their romance was spot on in my mind.

the inexplicable shape of my life by benjamin allire saenz. this book was hit or miss for me. i really liked the plot, but it was just a pity party. but, i’m not sure why i put it on here, but it was still an amazing read in itself.

capturing the devil by kerri maniscalo. everyone and their mother knows i love this book, and the series as a whole. but, this book was nice to see the series wrap up, along with the romance to unfold, and spoiler, the marriage.

kingdom keepers book 1,2,3 by ridley pearon. i love this whole series, but i only read the first three in 2019, with my reread. but, i love these characters, especially charlene. and them just being in disney plot altogether.

the cruel prince series by holly black. i read the series a whole for the first time in 2019, so i thought i had a include the whole series not just the first or last ones. but, the characters, cough cough cardan, came into their skin and showed their potentially.

girls with sharp sticks by suzanne young. i was scared to read this, because i didn’t know how i would like the all female school aspect. but, she pulled through with the school, romance, friendship, along with the breakout.

eliza and her monsters by francessa zappia. this is a reread, but i feel like i liked this book more since the reread. this has a huge anxiety rep. this book has many tough topics talked about, so check out all the triggers. plus, there is a parent death which is a main topic.

life and death by stephanie meyer. i loved this book so much, compared to the twilight series. i loved how beau and edythe acted, and beau wasn’t as annoying as bella.

the outsiders by se hilton. everyone and their mother knows i read this book three times this year. but, this book helped me so much, with pony and johnny’s story.

daisy jones and the six by taylor jenkins reed. this book is on everybody’s list. and it deserves the hype, with all the topics and ideas that were presented.

the unhoneymooners by christine lauren. this is my first time reading adult romance, and it didn’t disappoint. i loved the enemies to lovers and the slow burn romance. where the romance was gross in the start, but got better towards the end.

that’s everything for today. i’m sorry this list was pretty long, but make sure you check out all the triggers on goodreads before you start. tomorrow check back for a book haul.

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about the worst books that i read in 2019. all of these books that i read, front to back, and maybe one or two dnfs. please don’t get offended if i mention one of your favorite books,.

again, but better by christine riccio. if you follow me on instagram (r.bookish) or even on here, you would know that i hated this book with a passion. i hated the main character, who i have no clue what her name is, and everyone in general so annoying.

aladdin: far from agrabah. i have no clue who wrote this one. but, moral of the story, this book twisted aladdin’s story, but not in a good way. i just felt like the author didn’t watch the movie before hand.

fragile like us by sara barnard. this book i was very disappointed about. i loved her previous book, so i had high expectations for this one. but, i was let down.

to all the boys i’ve loved before by jenny han. this was very disappointed, since the first time i read the series, i loved it, but now i hated it and all the character. they where all whiny, annoying, and unrealistic.

alex and eliza by melissa de la cruz. this is the same as the TATBILB, i read it before, but now i hated it. on of the biggest let downs was the writing. plus the character where totally annoying and just bratty.

anthem by amy rand. this was a school read, and i hated it with a passion. i hate no clue what happened for most of the book. reading this book today, i couldn’t understand what was happening.

milk and honey by rupi kaur. the hype for this book was massive, but it wasn’t worth all the hype. the poems were either about sex or heartbreak. i couldn’t get into it, and didn’t find them that amazing.

house arrest by k.a. holt. i read this for the reading rush, and i heard a lot of hype around this book, and it was all amazing. but, it was let down. everything was dramatic and the narrator was annoying as hell.

scythe by neal shusterman. this is probably the one of the only book on this list that i’d try again. i was very overwhelmed with this book when i started it. but, i think the world and the idea is interesting, and i’ll probably reread it in 2020.

sorcery of thrones by margaret robinson. like scythe, i might give this one a go in 2020, but i found myself confused for most of the book. but, i heard a bunch of people said it was rocky in the start, but got better.

looking for alaska by john green. this one was disappointing, since i called this one a favorite, but it sadly wasn’t great the second time. and i felt it boring and all the characters annoying as hell.

the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky. i’ve loved this book so much in the previous years, but i hated the reread. i skimmed most of the book. plus, charlie, i think his name is, all he did was cry and bitch, which i felt annoying.

the afterlife of holly chase by cynthia hand. i was so excited for this book, since a crap ton of people like it. but, it let down. the characters where very annoying and i couldn’t get into it.

that’s all for today. there will be a new post tomorrow about the best books of 2019. like i already said, none of these are meant to hurt anyone, these are just my opinions.

books i want for christmas

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about the books i want for christmas. this is no way bragging, but i just wanted to put somewhat of a christmas post before christmas comes around.

kingdom keepers 7- the insider by ridley pearson. this is the last book in the oringal kingdom keepers series, and i’m working my way through a reread, and i’m so excited to get to this book in the next couple months.

return books 1,2, and 3 by ridley pearson. this is the spin off series of the kingdom keepers when they are now in their twenties and still working for disney, well going to college. i’ve these books too, and i’m so excited to reread these also.

the wicked king by holly back. like the others, i already read it, and loved this book so much. plus, i love this series so much, i couldn’t wait to want to hopefully add it to my collection. if you couldn’t tell, i ask for books i already read.

sick kids in love by hannah moskowitz. unlike the others, i have not read this one yet, but this one has been on my tbr since it came out. plus, i think it is a good twist because they do not die in this, which isn’t a spoiler since it is on the cover.

i hope you enjoy this. it was fairly short compared to the other ones. and i hope you have a merry christmas.

queen of nothing review

hello everyone! today i am going to be reviewing queen of nothing by holly black. i gave this book 5/5 stars. if you do not know what this book is, you live under a rock. but, this is the last book in the the cruel series, which i love so much. and this does have do have spoilers, you have been warned.

i really liked that it was back and forth. where, in a beginning, jude was in the moral world, but she would still fight like she was in faerie world. i taught it was interesting that she still fought and carried out her duties like she did before.

when jude was with her madoc it was so boring and i could not get into the story. literally nothing was happening and i was just so bored. when anything happened, it was jude yelling at madoc or his wife being oblivious to everything.

Tayran took fuck, marry, kill very literally. i personally thought it was insane that she killed her husband even though they have a baby on the way together. but, i understand how this set up the whole plot of the story with jude and cardan.

i really like how cardan came full circle to help jude. in the other books, and even part of this one, he is a dick, and it was really nice to see him help jude through everything since they are married.

this is kinda controversial from what i heard, but i love vivi and heather together. i feel like they compliment each other, in a good way and i wish they stayed together.

i also really like how the sex scene played out. i feel like we did not get to much intimate time between jude and cardan. if that makes ant sense. but, after they did this, i feel like they got closer to each other as a couple and rulers.

to kill a mockingbird review

hello everyone! today i am going to be reviewing to kill a mockingbird by harper lee. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this was a school read, and i’m so shocked that i actually liked it.

one of my biggest problems with this book was the different types of the n word that was thrown around. it made me so uncomfortable. granted, it happened back in the great depression, but it still made me super uncomfortable.

i really love dill and scout together. they are such a cute ‘couple,’ if you would call them that. but, i feel like if there was another book written when they where older, it would be amazing if they where still together.

the whole book is a lead up to the case and jem breaking his arm, but i wish the case went on for longer. the case went on for about three chapters, with a little talk here and there, but i wish you got more of what happened before and after.

i really liked the ending. i’m not going to say much about it, since it is a spoiler, but everyone and their mother has read this book. but their was so much character development from the three characters.

anyway, i hope you enjoy this review. i really liked this book, even though it was a school read.

disney in shadows review

hello everyone! today i am going to be reviewing disney in shadows by ridley pearson. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this was a reread and i love rereading it so much.

one of the parts i love so much was when charlene and finn talked about skin color, how everyone is important no matter their skin color or their interests. it was something that many kids and adults could relate to, if they have a darker skin color or if they like something different than everyone else.

i also really liked how the book took place in hollywood studios and epcot. it was something different then magic kingdom over and over again. it was so cool to see then with new rides and new friendships.

i loved that we got the keepers with different people. in the first couple books, the keepers are with the same people over and over again. but, we got charlene not just with finn but with amanda and jess trying to find the fob.

i hope you enjoy this. i loved reading this book. it was such an enjoyable book to read.

everything everything by nicola yoon. like most of the books, this is a reread, and i’m so excited to read about these two characters and their little adventure.

10 things we did, and probably shouldn’t have by sarah mlynowski. i’ve read this book a couple years ago, on my birthday actually, and i have such good memorizes from this. but, this book does have talk about animals dying, and sex disease.

anna and the french kiss by stephanie perkins. i’m kinda scared to read this one, since i know everyone hates this as they reread it, but i really like the books, so i’m hoping they hold up.

love and gelato by jenna evans welch. so, i love this book so much and the whole series in general. plus, i can’t wait for the new one in 2020.

queen of bright and shiny things by ann aguirre. i remember loving this book so much, and it was so cute but sad at the same time. i’m hoping to love this once again, as i reread it.

the loose ends list by carrie firestone. so, this book does have a lot of talk about grandmother death, it’s pretty much the whole plot of this book. but, i remember this being so sad, but the main character was so nice and sweet.

november book haul

hello everyone! today i am going to be doing my november book haul. i hauled 8 books this month, most of them about vampires not going to lie. but, i’m so excited to read all of these books.

unspoken by sarah rees brennan. i got this book from my library book sale. this book sounds so good about a girl writing a school paper that’s in love with a boy in her head.

the morganville vampries volume 1 and 2 by rachel caine. these books are part of a series, and have two books in each book. and these ones are about a girl that moves into a old house in a college town, but lives with vampires.

birthright by cate tiernan. i completely picked up this book because i read her other series, sweep, and loved it so much, that i had to pick this one up and give it a go.

the secrets of lily graves by sarah strohmeyer. i’m not sure what this book is about, but from i know, it’s about a girl with a mortician family and is wrapped into a murder.

the beautiful by renee ahdieh. i got this book for the november book club book of the month for the bookish.love.book.club, on instagram. so, i’ve already read this book, and thought it was a decent book.

now entering addamsville by francesca zappia. i loved her other books, so i had to pick this one up as soon as it came out. but, i love that adam is spelled like the addams family.

winterwood by shea ernshaw. i got this book from owlcrate this month. this book sounds so good about the woods and witches.

anyway, i hope you enjoyed this. i can not wait to read all of these, since they all sound so good.

daisy jones and the six book review

hello everyone! today i am going to be reviewing daisy jones and the six. first off, i loved this book so much, i gave it 5/5 stars. this book is really similar to a star is born, so if you like that movie, you should like this one.

first thing, i thought the interview aspect was super cool. it was something that i haven’t read before. i was skeptical on how the story would flow, but you could really visualize the story, even though it is in talking form.

i love the fact that you could see the bands home life. you got to see billy with his life and deal with his addiction and daisy with her care free attitude.

i loved the relationships. i loved seeing each band member with their signification others, and how they found them. i loved seeing more of daisy then when she was singing or doing drugs.

but, i wish we got more of karen’s story. we got mostly billy and daisy, not that much of karen’s besides kissing or her relationships, which i didn’t like.

i loved how the story wrapped up. with finding out how the band members stories ended, what they did after the fame. plus, i liked that we got told who was writing the stories.

anyway, i hope you enjoy this. i really love this book so much, and i think everyone should read. but, i would check goodreads for any triggers that might come up.
