hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about some popular Halloween horror books. i have never read any of these books, since i’m such a chicken, so i have no clue if i’m ever going to read these books, since i don’t want to be scared for the rest of my life about it.
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno- Garcia. this is probably the most recent release on this list, but i still wanted to include this book. but, this book is all about a family, who is one of the cousins just got married. but, right as this cousin tells Noemí Taboada that she need needs her help.
i honestly started to read this book, but i never got into this book, since i just couldn’t get into this book at the time. so, i do want to read this book eventually, but i still want to get to this soon. i mean, i think it sounds so cool, but also so freaking scary so i’m super scared to get into this. but, make sure you check out the trigger warnings, since there is a ton, from what i heard, about this book.
the haunting of the hill house by Shirley Jackson. this is a story about four different people who arrive at the Hill House. but, their stay is supposed to be normal, but soon this gets to be a spooky encounter, but the house soon gets its power. if you couldn’t tell this seems so freaking spooky.
i really cannot wait to read this book, but at the same time i get so scared to read this book, since i think it might be so bad to get into it. but, i did get this in an owlcrate one month, but i’ve been to scared to actually pick it up. so, maybe i will in November or something, but don’t get your hopes up.
Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. i’m pretty sure everyone knows what this book is about, but i’ll give a short little description from goodreads. in this song there is a lot of talk about the everyday life for Irish people. so, the lyrics mean that the people are probably in a pub and drinking away all the angry, sadness, getting into fights and also talking about how good their life might be. but, the lyrics mean that people are drinking away all the pain and all their emotions. overall, this song seems really negative, since about everything that they are talking about. and since fighting and drinking a ton isn’t really a good thing, but everyone in the pub is talking about the good old days.
i plan to read this book eventually, but like in a couple years, since i personally don’t want to read this anytime soon, since i’m such a chicken. but, i’ll eventually read this book. and i know this is beloved by so many people, so fingers crossed i’ll get to it.
the southerns guide to haunting vampires by Grandy Hendrix. this story is all about Patricia Campbell who always wanted to have this big and grand life, but she gives up her plans to be a nurse in order to marry a doctor and become a mother. but, she always looks forward to her days at book club where she can read mysteries and talk about her love for books. but then a new person moves in on their block, and they start to investigate him and uncover his dark secrets.
i am honestly so interested in reading this book, since i just sounds so freaking good, especially with the whole vampire. and two, this is an adult book, so it won’t be that cheesy YA crap we’ve all read. and i honestly want to see what this book brings to the table involving vampires.
the sun down motel by Simone St. James. this book is all about a rundown motel, which has been in this family for a while. but, this motel has people that pass through town stay here, some are locals, whose main goal is to hide their secrets. but Viv Delaney works here to pave her way into New York. like everything goes, something isn’t right in this motel, and she wants to figure it all out.
this book honestly sounds so interesting, and i just think that this book could go in so many different directions, and i honestly just want to read this book so soon so i can learn everything about it. and i honestly hope this book involves murder in some way, since it would make it so much more interesting.
anyway, this is all for today! this list is kind of all over the place, since i did some classics, then more recent books, but these are more popular Halloween books, which i see a ton of people read around this time of the year and get all the hype right now.
