Hey guys! I’m not sure if it’s a surprise to people, but I’m a massive Disney fan. I grew up to going to Disney, being the characters for Halloween, and watching the movies and live actions. So naturally, I’ve been to the parks 10+ plus times, so i know some tips and tricks for new Disney fans.
So one of the main things that people always my family when we go to Disney, is the airport and getting from
the airport to your hotel. If you are staying at ANY Disney hotel, there is the magical express, that will take you from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. All you need is you, your magic bands, and your carryon, and of course yourself. One of the biggest mistakes that happen is people get their suitcases from the airplane, the ones they check in, and makes you miss your bus. Don’t worry, the mouse will bring your suitcase to your hotel room before you crash for the night. There also is Minnie Mouse SUV that are around the Airport and the parks for other transportation. But I haven’t gone in one yet.
Naturally the next topic should be hotels. If your a DVC member like my family, you have a home hotel. (DVC is Disney Vacation Club, and home hotel is where we bought the DVC member ship from.) We only have stayed at that hotel a once, since it’s not our favorite. Are go to are The Wilderness Lodge, the Beach Club, The Contemporary and Bay lake tower. There is different hotels for different price points, the all stars are the cheap ones, and I don’t recommend staying there in the summer cause teenage groups from other countries and they scream and sing all night. And ones like the contemporary are more expensive since it’s close to MK and you can see the fireworks and the water show.
Transportation is another big thing, because you have to get from park to park. If you stay at Contemporary, Bay lake, The Polynesian, or the Grand Floridian have the monorail to get to and from MK and Epcot. But busses to Disney springs, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom(AK.) Where if you where to stay at the Beach club you could walk to Epcot and ride a boat to HS. The busses aren’t as nice as the ones to and from the airport, but they are still pretty nice. Where if your at the Wilderness, you have to take a bus to all of them, expect MK cause you take a boat there.
One of the most important things in everyone’s daily life is food. If your a DVC member like I am, you get a quick server, sit down, and snack point. We always use our quick server and sit down for lunch and dinner, occasionally for breakfast. But for breakfast we bring cereal and oatmeal from home and just get milk from the hotel. Some of my favorite quick servers are Mexico, Be Our Guest, (you need reservations for that one,) Pinocchio’s restaurant by it’s a small world, and contempo cafe. The easiest ways to explain quick serve, it’s kinda like fast food. The sit downs are more like Sunday dinners. For sit downs, the crystal palace, Ohana, England, and Chef Mickey. And for snack points, we always get Starbucks, rice crispies, cookies, ice cream, water, turkey legs, and Pretzels.
Now Fastpasses. They are actually one of the biggest things in a trip to Disney. For us, we always do peter pans flight, the wait can get really long, the jungle cruise and pirates of the Caribbean, since those two are favorites, Spaceship earth, it gets really long too, the safari, River rapids, the mine train, all the mountains, and hunted Mansion, since those are our favorites. When you get fast passes, don’t get them for the Donald Duck ride in Mexico, finding Nemo, the land, Ariel, dumbo, the magic carpet, any musical, it’s a small world, or anything that you think would have a small wait time. You can get three per day, but if you use them up, you can get more. But you can’t get FP at AK then get more at MK.
And the last big topic is shopping. Disney springs, or formally called downtown Disney, is pretty great. They have the sone if the best shops. Definitely go to the big Disney store and the Christmas store. I love all the different countries, they are the best.
Then MK has some great ones, the emporium is really good, AK has a bunch of cute stands, and HS doesn’t have anything that great at the moment, since it’s mostly under construction.
I hope you enjoyed this. If you have anything else Disney related for a blog post, let me know in the comments.
