january wrap up

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books i’ve read in January. honestly, it is kind of a lot, and it was a decent month. i mean, i did have some books that i didn’t really care for, but i still liked somethings in here.

the famoux by Kassandra Tate. i gave this book 1/5 stars. thanks so much Netgalley and Wattpad books for the publishers. first off, this book was honestly so freaking bad and it was just so cringey. and also the writing was so terrible and it just was so basic and boring. but the characters were honestly so flat and not good.

city of the plague god by Sarwat Chadda. i gave this book 1/5 stars. thank you so much Netgalley and Disney for an arc. but, this book was just so basic and kind of a percy jackson rip off at parts. and some of the things that they said in here just didn’t rub me good, so i felt like i couldn’t give it a good rating. and it was so anti woman, that it was so annoying.

city of the villains by Estelle Laure. i gave this book 1/5 stars. thank you so much Netgalley and Disney books for this arc! this was honestly worst then the first two and it also had so much potential, but just not written well. but, the plot was a mess, just like the writing.

all this time by Mikki Daughtry and Rachel Lippincott. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this book was honestly so heartbreaking, but yet so amazing. honestly, this will probably be one of the best books of 2021, since it was just that good. the ending was to good to be true though, but still so good. and whoever designs these covers honestly needs a raise.

rent a boyfriend by Gloria Chao. i gave this book 4/5 stars. overall, this book was honestly so cute and i really liked it. there were parts between the holiday’s that did get to be kind of boring, but this was still pretty good. i really liked the relationship and how it all panned out. and this was honestly such a good book and i highly recommend this.

revenge of the sluts by Natalie Walton. i gave this book 4/5 stars. thank you so much Netgalley and Wattpad books for an arc! but, this book was honestly so good, and i really didn’t expect it to be that good. but, this wasn’t the best book i’ve read, but also not the worst. but, i really like how it wasn’t all slut shaming like a lot of books are.

if i disappear by Eliza Jane Brazier. i gave this book 3/5 stars. thank you Netgalley and Berkley. this book was honestly pretty bad, and just this book was honestly kind of a mess. and i honestly can’t get over a couple of the things that they said, since they were just so weird.

the inheritance game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. i gave this book 3/5 stars. this book was honestly kind of bad, and i don’t really see a lot of the hype of this book. but, i did find the ending to be so predictable, and the mystery wasn’t even that good. but, i’ll probably still read the sequel when it comes out.

truly devious by Maureen Johnson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i honestly had no hope for this book, since when i started it once and dnfed it, so i really had zero hope for it. but, i honestly loved this book so much when i was reading it. the romance was unneeded though, but it was still pretty good.

throwaway girls by Andrea Contos. i gave this book 3/5 stars. thank you Netgalley and Jimmy Patterson Books for an arc of this book! this was honestly not the best thriller and mystery book i’ve read. but, this was also kind of predictable in my mind. i also wish we got more talk about their relationship, but the ending was definitely way to nice for the book.

teen killers club by Lily Sparks. i gave this book 4.75/5 stars. this book was honestly such a wild ride, but it was pretty good. the whole love triangle wasn’t even that good, and i really didn’t care for it at all. but, the ending was also way to sweet for the book, since the whole book was like murder and death, where the end was happily ever after.

in an absent dream by Seanan McGuire. i gave this book 3/5 stars. this honestly was such a decent book, and it wasn’t the best book in the series, but it was still really good. the whole world was pretty cool and i guess wish we got more explanation on the world, but in the end was pretty cool and i liked it in the end.

the project by Courtney Summer. i gave this book 2/5 stars. thanks Netgalley and Wednesday Books for an arc! this honestly was such a terrible book. like i know people are probably going to come for me since i don’t like, but it was so bad. like the characters were all the same, and just kind of flat. and there was also so much preaching in this book that just got to be annoying.

love is a revolution by Renee Watson. i gave this book 2/5 stars. thank you so much Netgalley and Bloomsbury YA for an arc. but, i honestly had such high hopes for this book, but it just let me down so much. this book was so toxic from what Nala was trying to do. but, and there was so much drama and lying it just got to be annoying.

broken wish by Julie C. Dao. i gave this book 4/5 stars. thank you so much Netgalley and Disney Books for an arc. but, this was honestly a pretty good book, and it was honestly super cool. and i really liked the whole fairytale vibes in this book. and the whole friendship was pretty good and i really liked it. but, i do wish we got to see more of the parents when they were younger since that was cool.

the taming of the shrew by William Shakespeare. i gave this book 1/5 stars. so, i read this book for school, and i honestly hated it. like it was such a bad book and i really did not like most of the characters and whole plot and everything. but at this point, we get that he hates woman.

the vanishing stair by Maureen Johnson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this book was honestly so freaking good and i really loved this book. like, it was just so good and i loved the mystery plot, and i really like it. and the whole david plot was honestly pretty good and i really liked it in the long run. and i’m kind of happy that it wasn’t that romance heavy.

the cousins by Karen M. McManus. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i honestly had such high hopes for this book, and it was such a let down. but, i couldn’t get into this book at all, and overall it was so bad. like all of the voices were just so bad and kind of cliche and then pretty boring. and all of the voices were all the same and got to be confusing as hell.

as far as you’ll take me by Phil Stamper. i gave this book 3/5 stars. thanks Bloomsbury for an arc! but, this book was not good, there was honestly so much bullying and homophobia in this book, it really just made me a pissed off. and the weight talk was honestly so toxic for me, and it honestly made me pretty triggered. overall, i didn’t expect this to be so rough and dark.

anyway, that is all for today! i honestly read a lot of books this months, which is probably a new record for me. but, i honesty hope that in next month i read some better books, not all kind of shitty.

October wrap up

hello everyone! today i am going to be talking about all the books i’ve read in October. this is coming a little bit later, but i still wanted to do this post. but, i am so excited to talk about all of these books, since i loved so many of them. but, this month didn’t to go that much as plan, since most of these books weren’t that spooky, which is okay since i liked so many of them.

cinderella is dead by Kalynn Bayron. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this book was honestly such an amazing book, and i loved it so much. i honestly loved the characters, the romance, the girl power, and the betrayal so much. the but, as amazing this book was, i hated the ending so freaking much, it seriously did not do it justice. the ending could have been different from the arc ending, but needless to say i did not like it. you’ll probably see this book in January again, if you know what i’m getting at.

hunger games by Suzanne Collins. i gave this book 4/5 stars. i’m not a big dystopian fan whatsoever, but this book completely changed my mind. i loved the little romance so much, and i honestly never expected it to happen. and this whole book was just so amazing and now i can finally understand all the tiktok jokes about it.

a good girls guide to murder by Holly Jackson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this is my second reread of this book, and i honestly loved it so much. i loved how everything flowed together and the whole plot. and i honestly forgot so much of this book from the first read to this one. but i still really loved reading it. and honestly i loved all of the characters and the whole friend group.

heartstoppers volume 1 by Alice Oseman. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i’m not a big comic person at all, but this book completely changed my mine about it. but, this book was just so sweet and so cute. but, i did find some of the character drawings a bit confusing from time to time, but then i eventually got over it and figured everyone out. but, it was still so cute and just an amazing book.

good girl, bad blood by Holly Jackson. i gave this book 5/5 stars. OH MY GOD! i completely did not expect this book to be as good as it was and it was just the most amazing book in the world. and i honestly loved all the characters, and the little romance that we got here and there. and honestly Ravi was so freaking cute in this book. just a little side note, i loved Charlie in this book so much, that it was probably a little bit unhealthy.

life and death by Stephanie Meyers. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this book was a reread so i’m not going to talk that much about it. but, this book was 100% better then twilight with Bella and Edward. but, there was a couple times that i did have some issues with it, but i still loved it so much. and i’m really happy that i did get to reread this book this year, since i completely forgot to.

heartstoppers volume 2 by Alice Oseman. i gave this book 5/5 stars. i honestly found this book a lot easier to read then the first book, since we already knew the characters and their personalities and a little bit of their relationships. so, this was just a lot easier to read. but, this book was so quick, i mean i think i finished it in one day during teams school calls. and this is just the perfect romance book, especially if you want a sweet lgbtq+ book that doesn’t deal with people dying or a lot of trauma.

don’t stay up late by RL Stine. i gave this book 4/5 stars. this book was honestly so great, and it brought back a ton of the nostalgia from the first time that i did read this book. but, this was so predictable and whatever, that it was super easy to figure everything out. but, i do wish the ending was better, but i still overall enjoyed this book.

after ever happy by Anna Todd. i gave this book 1/5 stars. i’m not going to sit here and talk for awhile how much i hated this book, since everyone knows that i hate this series with a passion. but, i will have a review to come, and i believe in December since i’m so backed up with reviews, so look out for that shit show whenever it comes out.

heartstoppers volume 3 by Alice Osemen. i gave this book 5/5 stars. this book was also a sequel, so i’m not gonna say to much about it. but, honestly found this book to be so freaking adorable, and i loved the relationships, and that we just didn’t get Charlie and Nick’s, we also got to have Charlie’s friends, which were so cute.

one evil summer by RL Stine. i gave this book 2/5 stars. i honestly had such high hopes for this book, but i could not get into it. i mean, i think that the whole book just was so terrible, and i just couldn’t get into this book. i also hated these characters so much, and it was just so bad

there’s someone inside your house by Stephanie Perkins. i have this book 4/5 stars. i was honestly so scared to read this book, but i actually really enjoyed this book. it was so dark, which i expected, but it was just so freaking good, and i loved everything so much.

anyway, that’s all for today! i hope you enjoy this blog post. be sure to tell me in the comments what you read in october and what your favorite book was. my favorite one was probably good girl, bad blood. and if you did see this post go up on Monday, i’m really sorry, but everything got messed up and went up on the wrong day.
